This post helped me a lot. I had some trouble getting the old bulb out, but
after that it was smooth sailing. I found that once I popped the hood and
was able to put one hand through that way and the other from the access
panel underneath things became much easier. Thanks!
I spent over 1 hour lying in my driveway trying to change a dipped
headlight bulb.it was difficult to see/reach anything via the wheelarch. I
got as far as the bulb holder then couldn’t release the bulb. BMW handbook
is useless. Now I have seen Peter’s helpful video I will have another try!
My previous car was a Volvo V50 and it was a simple job to release the
whole headlamp unit to replace bulbs. Why BMW make such a simple job as
bulb replacement so difficult is mystery or could it be that customers are
thus forced to use expensive BMW services?. Ps.If you are a young
contortionist with good eyesight you may find the job easier than I did!
Thanks man, that was another warning and now I realize that my left yellow
bulb for turning is dead…

Yes, there was so many warnings sometimes in dashboard, that it generaed
