UPDATE: When I reinserted the lock devise while the handle was still loosie-goosie, I tripped a switch inside the lock-devise hole, on the top. This will pull the handle flush. You can either push this little tab back with a screw driver before reinstalling the lock devise OR, inserting the lock devise will trip the switch as well. Here’s a video on a 3-series where that step is shown.

DaZe DamaJ says:

Did you also have the problem of the key needing too be inserted too turn the car on? Along with the handles not working

KellyMarcus23 says:

What was the name of the website you ordered part from?

CapricornMJX says:

I have a BMW X5 E70 N63. I had a issue last week where the car lost all audio and Bluetooth connectivity. It also starting firing " No Warning Tones". Your video, out of so many other videos out there, was the one that helped me fix it. I replaced the door handle as well as the fried Fuse#132 ( 7.5 Amps). The car works just fine now!

sorasak somchai says:

Fuck me, why didn't I see this before cost ke so much fuck the dealership advisor.

Mordalo says:

$500 labor for 20 minutes? Lordy!!

IronTrev says:

Soon to be an issue for my 2013×5

Mordalo says:

How did you identify it was that handle?

You the man

Suburban Garage says:

Thanks for the video, I've been having a similar issue with high battery drain warning and it eventually blew the 132 fuse…..which breaks the M.O.S.T. loop which then also disables everything! Heck I thought my amp had fried at one point, but it was just the CAS fuse. Anyways thanks again for finding the parts site and putting this video together.

Walker Robinson says:

BMW do love to take your money. I had to order aftermarket parts and respray the handles before installing.

Joshua Knutson says:

I heard that e70s are prone to high battery drain issues and most of the time it can be traced to the door handles is this what you were fixing? Mine has said issue with battery drain. And from forums this seems to be the issue.

Dorel Ghincea says:

Thanks! Same problem with my x6 M50D

Dean Campbell says:

Your video couldn’t come at a more perfect time as I was about to go to the dealer for the exact same issue when I saw your video the night before. My concern is, I saw 2 different parts numbers on parts hub and couldn’t readily determine which one to select. The description didn’t help much #51-21-7-207-565 or #51-21-7-207-567. Doesn’t say front or rear. Do you happen to know the correct one?

ThatKid MingMing says:

When they changed out the timing belt they charged for new bolts and everything they touched they replaced

shpat Gostivar says:

Awesome video! But my question is. How do you know which handle is faulty. How do I know which one to check do I go threw all of them? Thanks?
