In this video, I modified a 20amp fuse by cutting the outer edges of the fuse contacts and then I inserted it into the pins associated with the dme on the wire harness under the steering wheel. This cranks your starter, it doesnt start the vehicle. This procedure is meant to diagnose your key, ews, and starter.
on my e46, i get no crank no start. doing the fuse trick you do, it cranks. fuel pump gauge and everything are ok but it just doesnt crank by itself-just clicks (and drains the battery doing so). EWS does beep with the door open and key in ingnition 1-accessories (key recognized-can also lock and unlock doors). it started 2 weeks ago perfectly fine. i got an obd2 cable to pc from amazon the good one, that the INPA app uses and it reads the car fine, syncing the key through inpa does nothing and i get code 209. only thing i could find abt code 209 is that the ews doesnt talk to the ecu right? or dme? which if that was the case, i'd get crank no start. i want to avoid an ews delete but idk what to do. do i just need a new key? and it's transponder is bad? I'll try forcing the rolling codes to sync using an ak90 and see what gives. any other ideas are appreciated
I've just got this problem I turn the key and nothing not even a click from the starter motor I think it is the immobilizer any ideas I'm having to get a tow truck to take it to my mechanic but it's baffling me
This might be too late but I used a fuse to do the same thing, the car cranks and starts with starting fluid but won’t run. I had a new key coded and it should be recognized by the ews, should the car start? Has gas unsure if it’s good or not

Do you know how to reset the engine failsafe prog on a e39, i started the engine with the idol control valve unplugged

EWS failed, you have to use MHD tuner or pay someone couple hundred to delete EWS from ECU. I fixed mine for $200
