Jin Lee – Yes it is part of the specs for instillation.

Fernando Sanchez says:

When doing the rear springs, the lower control arm has a metal piece that
runs along and blocks swinging the arm down from the wheel side, I noticed
in these videos that piece is bent to allow the clearance, is this a
problem?

IsBitten says:

Hi, are the torque specs the same for BMW E91 lci?

Ross Le says:

people use torque wrenches? only use it for wheels

Craig Cundiff says:

Well done. You didn’t fly through and I actually learned something…

Charles Desoto says:

Great video. Can you please tell me the size of the nuts and bolts on the
rear control arm please? Specifically the ones that you are only to
tighten when the suspension is loaded. Thanks!

This is by far the best instalation guide I have ever watched.if only I
could find a garage here in the uk that offers such professionalism.i am
going to install my coilovers to my e93 with this guide rather than take it
to the heavy handed grease monkeys in my area.thanks ecs for the amazing
video!!

Charles Hang says:

ECS, would you happen to have a specific video for installing the FK street
line-coil over kit on a MKIV?

ECSTuningMedia says:

The spec for the bolt is XXX foot pounds followed by the 90 degree turn. It
is the factory method for installing those bolts.

dashboy67 says:

Hi, What wheels are installed?

evochuck says:

Just installed my full coil over kit in my driveway with only floor jacks
and hand tools, honestly I could have never done it without this vid, big
thanks to ECS tuning! cant post pics on Youtube unfortunately 🙁

Royal S. says:

excellent video. This video added so much clarity to my upcoming project.

Loc Tong says:

Also, where can i find the torque wrench tools small enough to torque the 3
bolts of the strut under the hood?

sdfghj says:

well, time to put a hydraulic lift in my home garage lololol

Kevin Griegel says:

how much different is the procedure for this compared to an e46

Keith Adkins says:

Do you know if the F30 335i is roughly the same? Rumor is they are much
more difficult. Very well done video btw, great job and just all around pro!

gundamfuker says:

wow I shouldve watched this before installing megans on my car, I had to
push down on the rear rotors cuz i didnt think about the rear control arms
like that. BTW i needed wheel spacers in the front so ALWAYS have them just
in case cuz u will be rubbing and messing up the inside of the wheel (2
days did a number on mine)

Loc Tong says:

alright cool thanks!

DejaVu0 says:

that was an awesome video.

David Yenikomshian says:

If all mechanics could be has good as this guy!

ECSTuningMedia says:

Install of coilovers on the F30 is actually going to be fairly similar. You
should be able to use this video as a general guide on the new F30.

Fernando Sanchez says:

Any idea what kind of grease he used on the front struts?

Loc Tong says:

Whats the purpose of the 90 degrees turning of the bolts for the control
arms after you have torqued them down to factory specs?

ECSTuningMedia says:

The E46 is very similar, this DIY would make a decent guide for the E46.

Jon Colt says:

Nice, except now I REALLY want a hydraulic lift.

ECSTuningMedia says:

Torque specs are very similar on the 335i xdrive. They will vary due to
some different sized bolts used. If you search “bmw_torq.pdf” you’ll find a
document on the web which lays out torque specs for all BMW nuts and bolts.

ECSTuningMedia says:

Thanks for the feed back chuck! You can always post it on our facebook
page!
