Learn in this video how to download and install a Remote Software Upgrade with your My BMW App. This is how it works:
1. With a push notification, your My BMW App informs you when a new software upgrade is available for your BMW.
2. Download the software upgrade, we recommend using Wi-Fi to save cost and time.
3. In your BMW, check your connections in the mobile devices menu and connect your phone via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
4. For Wi-Fi connection click on “New device”, “Internet, apps” and scan the QR code with your smartphone.
5. Now the upgrade is uploaded to your BMW when you drive.
6. Once the upload is completed, follow the installation instructions on the Central Information Display.
The upload process can be interrupted at any time and automatically resumes when the connection between your smartphone and your vehicle is re-established and the vehicle engine is running. Please watch our other How-To video where we show the installation process.

This shit doesn't work, I downloaded it into the BMW app but there is no information prompt on my dashboard display, log a support call and they promised to call you back ? Guess what they didn't.
I don't have the item "internet apps" in the mobile devices menu, how is it possible?
This software update is a hassle and waste of time. We paid a small fortune for this car. Please fix it BMW.

This is the most boneheaded software upgrade system ever created!! It's so damn counterintuitive to go throught the process. Why can't you just let the system in the car install it automatically? Whoever invented this should be fired immediately!!
The way BMW installs software is retarded. First, I have to download it to my phone, then, I have to connect my phone to my car, which, takes quite a while to establish a connection. Then I have to be driving. Yes, I can stay in the car and leave the car on so the software can transfer, but that is also retarded. Its 2021. Why can't the car download the software itself. Oh wait, it needs to the ability to connect to WiFi. Wait, why can't a car made in 2021 connect to WiFi again?

helpdesk doesn´t even know how it works…pathetic.
previously they claimed: you should start driving and then it automatically downloads and installs, it did after a week, this time it does nothing.

youtube video is terrible, doesn´t explain how to connect WIFI/BLUETOOTH/APPS.
all three are marked in my car but my phone shows sometimes wifi and bluetooth are connected, never the apps.
BMW, make it idiot proof and make a YOUTUBE video which is CLEAR, explain EVERY SINGLE STEP, video for IOS and video for ANDROID.
