TheBramptonBully says:

hey nice vid, when you ordered the parts did they send it as a “personal
gift”? or did you get charged for duty taxes as well. i hate ordering shit
from the states only to get raped by customs when it comes up north you
know?

inline6_ bm says:

+Bullshitkorner where did u order the anti rattle rings

bimmerman3 says:

I put new seals and bearings in an M50 325i engine and now just seals on my
M54 325i. Guess I should have done the bearings too, but didn’t think about
it at the time. The old M50 rattled bad but made a huge difference in sound
and power. I gave that car to my neighbor and its up to 220k miles and
still going.

Nice seeing this done, its one service that I haven’t done yet.

Andrew Langridge says:

Excellent, about time someone did a decent video on the vanos rebuild, and
no one better than Bullshitkorner!
My question is – where did you get the new vanos bearings from?

1693caterpillar says:

Those thrust bearings I would think, should be twice as big. Good series
and yes, I did Google VANOS and found it to be interesting. Speaking of
seals, I’ve rebuilt automatic transmissions that have been so severely
overheated that the seals in the pistons had turned to plastic. Also make
damn sure your battery is the best you can find and puts out the power it’s
suppossed to. I,m guessing you would have checked you alt output being the
mech you are.

1693caterpillar says:

As I understand, the crankshaft position sensor can be a bitch, but the
main causes are bad grounds an bad oil with Vanos. And they won’t throw
codes if the problem is intermittent.

Bakker Almasri says:

You just inspired me to do mine, I’m always afraid to to work on my bmw,
idk why but i think I’ll f**k it up. It’s not like my pos ford. If I f**k
that I couldn’t care less, parts are cheap and labor is cheap, (Mexicans
can fix fords really good for dirt cheap)

covington race says:

man this guys fucking angry, I think this is how every fucking you tube
video should be, fix the fucking car you fuck

Bullshitkorner says:

Rebuilding the Vanos with Viton Orings and PTFE seals.

Cool vid,my vanos died last year if I had my own tools and place i would
defo do it myself .my mechanic was so lazy he advised me to change the
whole unit for another used one, it was impossible to find on the net so i
got low mileage engine from scap yard changed the unit and resold
incomplete engine to a guy who took to africa 🙂 I took me one month to do
all this shit.im sure it would be easier to get the fix kit .thanks for
uploads mate!
