Since I’ve owned this X5 it has had this tailgate rattle right after I go through a carwash or it gets wet. Usually the problem didn’t bother me until we got into the rainy season here in California. You guys have left me comments to help out! Thanks again! Hopefully this video will help others!

Edward! Thanks for all you do. I have put a trailer hitch on my '18 F85 and just did a front brake pad job. Could not have done it without you. What is interesting is my home dealer (Appleton, WI) texted me that my brakes would need replacing soon which is why I went ahead (and they were mushy). My front pads had about 70% meat left on the bone and the rotors are 1.30 inches (I think that is good). Just a reminder that the dealers are not our friends. Good to have you around so we can at least verify what they are telling us.
Hi Ed…I think this happens when you bimmercode the tailgate softclose feature. One vlogger "Yaady" had this same problem if you watch her video. I think she watch your vlog and followed one of your video when you did bimmercode your tailgate softclose. And I think she put her tailgate back to original settings. FYI
