YOUR VIDEO IS NOT CORRECT AND IT CAUSED ME TO DAMAGE MY PANEL!!!! There is
another screw under the shade that you did not mention. By not removing
this screw it caused my panel to crack. Thanks a lot asshole!!!!!

Giggidygiggidy12 says:

Great Vid however should be noted this door is a base model X5 mine is the
same year but has the side airbags and privacy screen that need to be
removed and there’s additional steps dealing with the airbags on either
door.

Bread996 says:

Do NOT pull the top of the panel outwards as shown. Those upper clips are
supposed to stay on the panel. You did this the hard way. Remove the
plastic vertical window shade housing above the panel. There is one screw
under the shade holding the panel down. Then LIFT the panel up off the
frame like you would in any other car.

Where power cable on the back door

gil rod says:

stopped working, and I need to find out why! if I need more help to work on
it I will write back for some help. thank you very much.

Great video! Thanks it’s very helpful since I’m trying to replace and up
grade all the door speakers on my X5.

gil rod says:

for now I’ll be using a medical plastic bite stick. will see how it works.

bimmermerchant says:

Nice. Gotta love those X5 models.

bimmermerchant says:

Hope you figured out that the panel has to be removed first and then shade
can be removed by removing phillp screws i beleive. Hope all turned out
well.

killerevan34 says:

What is the tool called that you used to remove the pins?

gil rod says:

where can I buy that plastic tool?

bimmermerchant says:

what do you mean ‘power cable’?

gil rod says:

I’m sorry, I just read a question by RSpi007 with that same question and
read your answer to it, I’ll try it. thank you.

Robert DIY says:

The X5 that I’m working on had the rear window shades. Does the shades have
to be removed before the panel can come off?

PandaMagicFTW says:

Yo man, your information is wrong. 3:53, you should have said to do that
after you remove the interior. That thing on my car is now broken.

gil rod says:

Im now working my 2004 BMW X5 Rear door panel. however your video shows how
to remove the rear panel for a 2001 BMW X5. Correct me if Im wrong but I
have notice that the 2001 X5 BMW’s don’t have a screen that the 2004 X5 BMW
Have in the rear doors that we can pull up when windows are down. do you
know how to remove it?

bimmermerchant says:

The red plastic tool is often called door panel remover, the other tool
that looks like a screw driver with two hooks at the end, I call husky and
can be found in most home depot stores. Hope that helps

Robert DIY says:

No I have not. I have the panel loose but there is a shade that seems to be
causing the panel to stay on the door.
