Paul Honnor says:

Hi Thanks for the video it helped me a lot, the easy way to do the job is
at the 3 minuet mark of the video if you press the button to make the roof
go down then turn the key of the car off at that time it stays down if you
do this just as it hits the back glass then continue at the 5 min mark

Kevin Gonzales says:

Thanks so much for this. I’ve got an 2004 x5 with almost the same problem.
After watching your video, went out to my car with a hammer and screwdriver
and… voila… I fixed the sunroof. I thought I was going to have a $500
bill on my hands. Instead, I fixed it myself in 5 minutes. Thanks for
taking the time to make this.

elite_killah says:

Do you have to do this every time? Or does this just happen sometimes?

Las A Reath says:

My sunroof has a feature were it detects an obstruction and then stops
closing and opens again. This is most likely what’s happening here. There
must be a way to disable that feature and force the sunroof to close the
first time it tries. Just don’t put your finger in the way!

Shota Dolidze says:

thumbs up!!!

charles ingles says:

Look up online. There is a consumer reports lawsuit about sunroof failure
and leaks. Bmw also has issues with oil pumps, transmission, and airbag
recalls. Enjoy your ultimate driving machine!

TKofTheCarolinas says:

Problem is they have known about sunroof leaks and malfunctions since
1999…go check out consumer affairs lawsuits against them. BMW want fix it
because they already have your money so they dont care…the ultimate
driving machine my arse..check out transmission issues to.

Thank you for making this video. My 2004 X3 had the problem for a month and

Your video helped me fix it in 10 minutes.

This was great – worked like a charm on my ’05 X5. My dealer was asking
$4000USD to fix the panoramic roof. Did it myself last night after watching
your video. Now everything works except the vent function. Thank you!!!
