This video saved me about $1,000. I’m not that mechanically inclined, but
it wasn’t that difficult. Get the gear from Odometer Gears. They’re very
helpful!
HI, I have the same problem with my car, everything looks the same but mine
is a 1997, quick question can you tell me what kind of tools you used and
the size of wrenches? also have you any experience fixing the lever so the
seat can fold ? Thanks awesome vid
in responce to edragons69. I dont recall the exact size , but you will need
small torq sockets to remove seat gear box cover. maybe a T-15 or T-20. and
to remove the seat , i think it is 14mm bolts.
Yup, my seat is stuck in recline – I got the $1280 estimate too. Thanks for
posting, I’m going to look into this this weekend – worth a couple of hours
of my time I reckon!
andytownman1916. the only tip i can give you is, disconnect the battery
before unpluging anything from the seat . and if your gear is in many
piece’s , make sure to clean all of it out. I didnt do it in my video
because mine came out in a couple chunks. if your gear is in to many
piece’s , you will need to clean all the grease out , and put some new
grease in , as i reused all my grease and didnt need to do much cleaning.
