These are the same as K75, I had two I did check the clearance and I was
lucky, they
were in spec, these are a bit of a pin you have to change shims and shim
the clearance, I had some big jap Suzuki fours in the 70’s, they did need
shimming after
a lot of miles they are a pain, rocker adjustments are best, if you start
swooping the
shims around you can end up in one big mess, best to buy +or- shims and
work out
the clearance. These adjustments if they are out can take a long time to
correct
it’s a slow process.

TrueBlogge777 says:

There is an easy way to adjust these shims, if you intake is 0.15, and the
blade won’t
go in find one which will fit, it may be for example 0.10, you need reduce
by 0.5, on
the reverse side, if the clearance is two big, find a blade that fits, it
may be 0.20 you
need to add 0.5 shim It is a time consuming job.

Kirk, used to owned a 2002 R1150rs, this was the best boxer I have ever
owned, I took care of it like it was my baby better thin my wife, one day a
car Hite me from behind and totaled it, now I’m looking into the BMW K1300s
what have you heard about this one. Is there anything I should know is it a
good BMW is the clutch strong is the ABS wreath it, and is it hard to set
the valves on it . I did all the work on RS myself, and keep up the a very
good condition, I put 77k on it and love to ride her, before she was
murdered, I like watching your videos keep up the GOOD WORK. Thank You

I am happy it gave you the encouragement to tackle it yourself! That is
exactly why I made them. Enjoy the $ savings. I too am not so wealthy that
I can afford to take my bike in to the stealer.

Kirk thanks for the Video. My 99 LT has 38k miles and is due for a valve
check/adjustment. The only thing stopping me from doing it myself, is that
I like to see it done once before I do it. Now I have. I will tackle my own
very soon. The last time BMW did it, it was near $500.00 of course that
included new plugs. Thanks again.
