Did the filter cap have a gasket?
Excellent video. Thanks for doing this. One question, where did you get the
filter cap wrench? I have the same cheap one you show, but I can’t find a
good one that works. Suggestions?
I had the same problem, it turned out the radio was bad. As luck would have
it,it was covered under warranty. I have an 09 LT.
2000 BMW K1200LT Specifications: Motor Oil should have one of the letter
codes.. Engine oil capacity 3.96 quarts of API class SF, SG or SH; CD or CE
Lots of Oil to pick from but do check that your getting one with class API,
SF, SG or SH; CD or CE
You can donate at illinoisbmwriders in the lower right corner. Thank you!
The LT is notorious for crappy stereos. A lot of people replace them with a
Jensen Marine radio or just use bluetooth headphones in their helmets.
I bought my oil filter at NAPA and the brake pads at Chaparral Motorsports.
The bike takes almost 4 quarts of oil
Thanks for the great info! I was just mulling over an oil change a my local
shop, where he told me $80-120 for the change! Saving big bucks with this
video!
You’re welcome!
where can i buy that oil filter? ….can you also tell me where to buy the
brake pads…Thanks
It is hit and miss with these cap wrenches. Make sure it has room when you
stick the extension through and doesnt push against the filter. You can
always drill a couple of holes in the cap wrench to fasten some screws
through it into the filter.
oh and how many Quarts of oil does it take
Great video. My stereo speakers are acting up. On start up all 4 work, then
the back two go off, leaving the front two. Then, within moments the front
right goes off leaving only the left front. Know of any videos servicing
the stereo? I’m running an 07 K1200LT. 10K miles since this april. Great
video. I’ll donate. Where do I make a donation?
