BMW E70 X5 Water Leak From Rear Door DIY Fix

BMW E70 X5 Water Leak From Rear Door DIY Fix

My e70 x5 would leak a puddle of water from the right rear door when i would open it after a rain shower. I could see water was coming from between the door and the plastic interior panel. So in this video, I show you how to remove the interior door panel or door card from an e70 x5, plus how to fix the water leaking in the door. This should be a simple repair video for most owners to carry out the repairs themselves as a DIY job with some basic tools.

Nice and clear.
Funny how we have had similar/ same cars.
When I have these door letting in rainwater faults I always totally remove the inner membrane.. Clean out any gunk or debris in the door.. Lubricate lock and motor then I use spray glue around the inner door area and place a sheet of thin plastic roll (seat cover). Then I run a bead of sealant around the original membrane and refit. Never fails.
Sometimes I apply a spray of a rust proofing material to the inner lower door shell.
Another good video… Can't wait for the next.
