@ t brennan, there is no where on this video where it has been claimed that
it’s a certified BMW repair. As a matter of fact the dude stated from the
beginning that this is his FIRST time doing this. You sir either an idiot
or greedy steeler. Either ways, shut up
Very interesting! I learned a lot from this video!
The e38 is slightly different; being electronically controlled. But some
components are the same
Thank you very much for this video, this weekend it is discs pads all
around and handbrake rebuild.
t brennan please kill yourself
Looks fairly easy. Just time consuming. Thanks for the great info.
XI 4 SNOW, nice plate
Great video ! And …. I like the Xi 4 Snow License Plate :)
These are are not BMW Certified repairs! BMW has been notified of this DIY
video!! All brake repairs have to be done by BMW Certified Technicians. You
do know by posting this video BMW can be sued if someone follows this video
and something tragic happens to someone or something. Not once in this
video do you tell your audience that our a not a BMW Certified Technician.
Better be careful what DIY video you post.
You might have to replace the brake rotors too. You see, your current
rotors have a high wear from the inside where the brake shoes make contact.
If you want to bed in the new handbrake shoes, lift the handbrake while
driving slowly for about 10 seconds, and then allow to cool off for two
minutes. The main risk is doing it for too long, and causing the shoes to
overheat.
Awesome video and timing. I’m about to do this on my 323ci.
What shift knob do you have?
The E-brake on E39’s suck you can’t do a handbrake turn. Only time the
E-brake works is when the road is very slick. They might help shorten
stopping distance if you are braking hard from high speeds in a straight
line leveled surface I assume just don’t expect it to stop the car.
Great video.
Well done and well explained!
set screws are easy to remove, while the caliper carrier is still on, put a
pry bar or screwdriver in the vents of the disc and then you can undo the
screw easily as the screwdriver will hit against the carrier and stop the
disc from spinning.
