MANDAL NEYMOUR says:

Hi I’ve recently bought a 2002 bmw 745 and it was mashed on the side. I
noticed when I put a battery in it and start it the positive cable got very
hot within minutes but I also noticed the lead on the terminal from the
alternater is a bit slack. Does this means the terminal has to change?
Thank you for your help

Michael Hang says:

I have a Crack in the silver ring part. Should I just replace the ring or
the whole cable? My car sometimes doesn’t start because i guess it doesn’t
generate electricity through those rings and I need a jump start sometime.

Trey Davis says:

So u only need to do this if ur airbags pop?

graham barley says:

wen this goes got hit in rear near bat not hard got batt light on and air
bag light car run and lights ok so not alternator batt charges as it should
could it b this thats the problem ?

ALBERTO GRANADOS says:

Hello friends … I need to know if I need the resistence of 3.3 ohms or 2
ohms, and also if it has to be made of ceramic or porcelanite? I really
apreciate you help me, thank you!

Vala kashi says:

Hey there! Awesome video! Do you know where I can buy another to replace my
blown one? Other than the dealer. They are asking $500!

Sagar Chahal says:

Hello, nice video. So we keep our old cable in our car, and just swap out
the terminal part that connects to the battery? Thanks for your help.

littlefishergirl says:

Thank you for this video!

Kind of like MannSlaughter’s problem- corrosion & rust have gotten to my
positive terminal & the BTS, giving me an airbag light. Other than that ,
the car is functioning properly.

Do you think just cleaning the terminal (removing the rust) would fix the
problem?

You mentioned using a 3.3 Ohm resistor on the black wire, how does that
work?

leon nino says:

Does the terminal have to be exact model to for fitment?

rav singh says:

Hey great video will try this myself. The airbag light is on my mini cooper
s 2003 and fault code is battery positive terminal isolation 1. But the car
starts and works all fine so dont know what caused it. Reckon this will
help or will it be something else?

Laisvidas Striška says:

Hello, will it works on e91 2007? Thank you

MannSlaughter says:

Hello, Tomas.
Thank you for your informative video. It looks like you may save me a lot
of money. But my car hasn’t been involved in an accident. All I want to do
is replace my corroded positive terminal. With your video showing that the
terminal basically pulls off the end of the cable for easy replacement
would I still need the special scanner tool that you showed at the end?
Thank you.
-Slaughter

Sagar Chahal says:

I just took off my bst cable apart and it was not black and looked normal
like the one in this video. Could it still be bad? Car does not start but
all electronics works and mini diagnosed it with having a bad bst signal.

Alma Ranes says:

I like your video a lot that help us save some money. My airbags light
still on. There’s asking alot of money just to diagnose it.

Mark Newman says:

Top Man, done this at the weekend and got rid of the airbag light (BMW
reset) found the old battery cable had been deployed and some one had
soldered a fuse on the end of the black cable?? (yellow in the uk)
Thanks again
Mark

mistermac says:

Brilliant video, thank you for sharing!

Arabisc2k says:

Really loved your video. I hit a pothole and both the curtain and driver
door airbags were deployed yesterday and of course the car (E46 1999 328i)
did not start.

I have a question, if I cut the black wire, does that pretty much disable
the detonator? I think the design albeit clever but prune to false
positives like in my case and it is too much hassle.

I will shop for a used terminal to replace mine. not worth spending 800+
dollars parts + labor on 5000 old car 🙂

Thanks a lot Thomas!

mxlibano says:

hi, great video!!! im trying to locate the needed replacement cable for a
x3 2009, like the one used in your video, using realoem.com, but im unable
to find it. can you help me point out to the correct replacement part
number?
thanks in advance

Kevin M says:

its called a BST cable, this is a half ass fix but i had to do this too,
anyways you still get stuck with a airbag light on cause its been blown off
for safety, your just showing how to get the car up and running again but
un safe to drive cause your air bags still don’t work bad video

Gmoneya18 says:

Thanks for this Video. You’re right saves Thousandssss!!!. BTW where can
you get that tool to reset airbag light?

Jorge Fernandez says:

anyway i can rig it temporarily until i get a new one?

EndLess says:

Hey good video, showed more than anyone else. Did you get that OBD-II
connector off ebay? Also do you know if you can change or set the EWS with
that OBD connector? After my accident I think the dealer disabled my
vehicle? The EWS I’m guessing? Because everything turns on inside my car
but wont start? Unless my cable is still messed up?

Ali Albahrani says:

Hi , i changed the battery but its still doesn’t work do i have 2 reset
anything? thank you

trench lim says:

my only concern is I have the Seatbelt light on, i used INPA and found this
Error: SFZ(Satellite vehicle centre) 9AFF Resistance, firing circuit,
safety battery terminal, too high. If my BST have exploded then I should
have not able to start my car, but it the other way in my case. my car
start still starts and runs ok. do you know if what could be triggering the
Error and how to fix it?

GermanAutoRecycling says:

Sorry I need more details on your issue.

miguel11flores says:

Tomas. That’s pretty awesome repair. Everyone is doing the splicing. Which
I don’t really care for. Glad I watched your video before cutting. Please
tell where I can get the error code tool. Also I have auto-tap OBDII
reader. Will this clear the code?

saullaufer says:

Helpful video. Does the 1.4.0 Scanner tool clear the airbag light on a 2006
325xi?

richardp1962 says:

i’m interested in what you are doing but i dont see what you are replacing.
I dont understand your point between 3:57 and 4:10. What do you replace ?
Thx.

GermanAutoRecycling says:

You are replacing the Deployed Terminal End on the left (my right hand)
Your original will be deployed with black markings inside of it. Throw that
part away and then get a new terminal like the one in the video and
disassemble it like I show you, and re-install that end on to the Red Cable
that was poped loose. Re-install the black plastic enclosure and plug in
the yellow, sometimes orange 3 pin connector to the car. Once that is all
done you will need to clear the airbag light THANK YOU! Tomas

GermanAutoRecycling says:

Visit my website German Auto Recycling. The 1.4.0 Scanner tool is $99.00.
You will need the $19.00 Round Port Adapter if your vehicle year is 2000
and wiser. -Tomas

kenneth fragante says:

how do you take out the yellow part at like 3:15?

crugnalef1 says:

Great DIY video, thanks to this I saved hundreds of dollars. Thanks to the
guys at German Auto Recycling

Kevin M says:

when these get blown off by small pyrotechnic device at the end there no
longer good need to buy new terminal
