A few, yes. Mostly the ultra clean low-mileage ones online.
Hey Ryan, I have a PDF with all the options that were available for the E39
M5, and regarding the audio systems it says: -BMW hi-fi speaker system
(cheapest) -Individual 14 speaker audio system -Individual audio system
(same price as the 14 speaker) -Top hi-fi speaker system (most expensive)
So I’m assuming the best one is the Top hi-fi, but I always see E39 M5s on
the internet with the “M Audio with enhanced bass”, was that the factory
system? Thanks!
The K&N filter improved responsiveness. It feels like it freed up the
engine a lot. It also improved the sound slightly.
Do you think this filter lets in more dirt/debris than stock/paper filter?
Weird, I have checked almost all of them in enthusiastauto,com and they all
say “M audio with Enhanced Bass”

I don’t know off hand, it could be the same size. Only one way to find out
for sure.
I can imagine how reliable the 540i engine must be, considering it’s 286 hp
and in the M5 almost the same engine produces 400 hp, while still being
pretty damn reliable :O
If you can’t find it through Google, maybe try the dealer?
The factory system for the M5, I believe, is the 14-speaker system. The M
Audio has two subs in the trunk.

Did the K&N drop in filter give you any gains or response over stock?
The easiest air filter to change was the e36 3 series, all you had to do
was slide it out.
i had a interesting question i have a random 99 gti vr6 K&N filter just
like that and it looks almost the same size do you happen to know if that
would fit a 540is?
What isn’t easy is welding the oil pump nut.
