I have an 2001 E46 touring. I get that 5 sec beep as I put it into reverse.
When I listen for clicking sound on each sensor, I hear all of them
clicking. I tried cleaning them and drying them with hair dryer. Problem
NOT solved.
Maybe it’s faulty wiring because I didn’t check that. I know it’s very rare
but can it be the Control Unit? What else should I check?
There are many forum threads but none of them helped me…
My pdc just stopped working any clues where to start
Hello, I have the same problem on my car and found a silent sensor on the
rear right. However i have now replaced that sensor (which now clicks) but
I still have the fault. Do you know of any other way to diagnose it, or
should i blast em with a jet wash?
Great tips the same thing has happened on my skoda superb , great tips I
never knew you could hear them fantastic
@GTA4Forever Probably as hard as removing the rear bumper… which, as I’m
guessing, wouldn’t be that easy.
I am not sure if this has been mentioned earlier but at the start you
mentioned that the car was produced 1995 to 2003? Is that true or is it
1997 to 2003?
Good man
Thanks for the informative video, you helped me diagnose my PDC fault.
Think Is Not A Bad Car
How hard is it to change the painted ones?
That is a really helpful video, I’ve got a problem with the PDC on my E39
and had assumed it would be a big job but after watching this, I think I’m
going to have a go at getting it sorted myself. Many thanks!
No, only 6 speed manual.
@12absinthe12 To get the aftermarket halos, which I did (Depo) it would be
around $750. The OEM lights would be $3,000. Both prices include having BMW
wire them (around 1hr labor.) You might be able to do it totally yourself,
but I couldn’t get the halo lights wired to the other lights. Installation
and high/low beam wiring was easy though.
@xxxamuel I understand, but I love cars. Bikes would be great but they’re
just a little dangerous for me since everybody else is in a SUV around
here. My Dad has an X5, its very nice!
@xxxamuel sounds like somebody’s never owned one…
@e39source, hey ryan, how much does it cost to replace the halos? is DIY or
did you have to get it done by BSI?
@drifter247 Yeah I can do a short startup and rev in the next few days, but
I’ll have to keep it under 4k RPM, since there’s no load on the drive train.
Can i borrow your car a molest it a little? damn i love the M5 esp the E39
thanks for the video!
@xxxamuel Two BMW cars? 1.) Congratulations. 2.) Are you honestly not happy
with them? Which models do you have? If you really don’t like them I’m
sorry to hear that and you’re the first unhappy BMW owner I’ve ever heard
of.
I love how you take good care of your car, It just fantastic to watch these
videos
@SILEXon Technically I think it’s 1996-2003, but some parts I’ve found were
made in 1995… They didn’t come to the US until 1999-2000 though.
Does the E39 M5 come also with a Automatic gearbox?please reply:
can you do a start up video and revving because i want to here what it
sounds like before i buy one
Thank you so much for the feedback, glad you’re enjoying them!
