i want to install one in e21 are those steps the same?

Michael Strickland says:

Great video walkthrough leaving no stone unturned for the none technical. Have you got any before after videos and how did you feel performance afterwards?

crimsontorino says:

how similar is this to a 89 325i? i ordered a perfomance chip i just want to make sure i do it right and only once

BluePurpleRed Guides says:

The 318is in the US has the battery in the boot rather than the engine bay. It’s for battery weight distribution.

Desmos Dromos says:

Hows that you have battery in the boot?

GhostFerret3000 says:

Great DIY for M42 owners. Something that I found bothersome is that you used a screwdriver to remove the ECU chip. Ideally, you should use a plastic spudger in order not to damage or morph the silicon board.

Please get a life.

BluePurpleRed Guides says:

Probably, it is either an M42 or M44 engine. You’ll need to check with Mark D.

I have a 318ti is this something that could be done to my car?

Driver no doubt had a Signature Motoring performance intake CAI in that E30 M3. It can add up to 11HP for only about $150 and installs in 30-45 minutes – really a must for every E30 owner.

Performance E36ers can start with a Signature Motoring performance intake kit. It can add up to 11HP for only about $150 and installs in 30-45 minutes – really a must for every E36 owner. It also makes the car HOWL at high end but sounds normal at everyday driving. See my videos!

Thanks bro, this was really helpfull!! BMW E30 ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!

BMWPOWER4U says:

Most E30 owners install a Signature Motoring performance intake kit for around 9HP gain. Cost is a mere $150 or so, best value per HP gain in the E30 line.

Install time if only about 30-45 minutes in most applications. I have one in my 89 325i cabrio.

Crazy nice sound. Most regular guys install a Signature Motoring performance intake kit for around 9HP gain in the E30.

Install time is about 30 min, maybe 45 for two left hands, LOL. Great sound and extra performance for around $160.
