BMW Dynamic Stability Control Fault – Fixed – How To DIY

BMW Dynamic Stability Control Fault – Fixed – How To DIY

In this video I show a step by step guide on fixing the dynamic stability control DSC fault (dynamic traction control) DTC where it has a permanent warning light on in the dash (yellow/orange triangle with exclamation mark in centre of it) I swap over the abs control module from the old unit to the new working pump.

Unfortunately the first part of this video I shot was unusable and there for I have no footage of the test drive or the fault codes being read, I have placed some fault codes down below that are linked with this fault on different models.

I have also done previous work on the ABS and traction control systems in a BMW Link Here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PdnFRMMnEQ&t=268s
I show a step by step guide on how to replace a damaged abs reluctor ring & remove the rear driveshaft in a BMW e90. This is the second time I have worked on the ABS in this vehicle, I fitted a speed sensor in a previous video & cleaned up the ring, but unfortunately the issue was not fixed for long when the problem came back.
I take a much deeper look as to why this happened and how to correct it.

Did you skip the programming part?

My Z4 E89 after several minutes driving abs lights all come on. Restart clears them. Still haven't found the cause. I pulled and clean that black plug, reinstalled back to old 30g relay. Still no joy. Replaced rear wheel sensors.

Widmark Dwyer says:

Hi, I have the same problem with my 2011 328i and I performed the same process that you just performed in this video but none of the lights went off. My initial thought is that I didn't perform the bleeding process exactly as described. If I didn't perform the bleeding process correctly will that cause the lights to stay illuminated?

Guapo says:

Usually the codes replacement needs to be coded to match the cars VIN, and also calibrate the steering sensor – was that part skipped?

michael blacktree says:

I'm doing it the opposite; the electronics failed but the pump is still good. But the info on how to separate them was exactly what I needed. Thanks!

Hi, I hoping to get some advice. I recently took my BMW X5 F15 to the BMW servuce centre to look at all the warning lights that started appearing and was told that DSC Contruo Unit needed to be replaced. I had j no I choice but belive them and preceded with the expensive task of replacing it with a new unit; however after replacement the warning signals still appeared and I was told that they investigating further. A day later I was advised that there was short circuit with the wiring and now it is all working fine. Is it fair for me to suspect that DSC unit did not require replacement and it was a wiring issue all along? BMW service claims the short circuit was related to the replacement procedure. Should I believe that? Thanks in advance!

Meirion Evans says:

Got this on my wife's car. Put it on ista. I've changed the. Sensors. Still on fault for that gone. Got no code for pressure hydraulic failure. Any ideas.

eric vermeulen says:

Hi there, so I’m getting a 5e19 code on my 2008 e82 135i can this be it??

LAW says:

Thanks for the video. I believe the motor brushes are the real issue in the motor which obviously doesn't create any pressure and gives that fault code.
