I have an e87 1 series BMW with a half yellow engine warnig, codes 2a67 and
2a6B I know it it something related to the valvetronic. Do you happen to
know if it is the valvetronic sensor or if it is the valvetronic motor, or
something else? I hope it is not the sensor that I have to replace ecause
it costs a lot. Thanks

AutosReview says:

That sounds more like a problem related to the thermostat and cooling
system. I have a feeling you will get Fault code 10 and 123, 10 being:
Coolant Temperature sensor, and 123 being: Characteristic Map Cooling –
faulty thermostat, or no / incorrect activation by the ECU. Go to a
licensed BMW workshop, or a BMW workshop and have your car diagnosed.

I have a 2003 bmw e46 sedan..when i drive it for extended time, especially
on hot days-(summer time) shut the car off for at lease 5mins then try2
start it back up again. it wont start! the temp needle jumps into the red.
as if the car was overheating, it locks-up, nd wont start un-till the
engine cool’s off again, the needle never goes into the red zone while im
driving thought, only when i stop and then shut the car off ive been
struggling with this problem for 2yrs now with this car

Excellent tech vid chaps! I like that you went back with the oscilloscope
to verify your expected results.

I have 147,000 miles on my BMW 3 series with E46 engine. I tried changing
the spark plug with a small socket wrench and a 12 in extension and a 5/8th
socket. BUT THE SPARK PLUGS seem to be stuck … What should I do to remove
the spark plugs ? My car won’t start do you think it could be the spark
plugs ?

Very helpful video!! Unfortunately I live in a country (Venezuela) in wich
BMW dealers are very rare (2 or 3), so it is very important for my to found
this guides in order to tell the general mechanics what to do!!. Thanks
guys!

I’m having troubles removing the VANOS solenoid to get to the intake
camshaft position sensor. It seems pretty stuck. I sprayed it down with
some Bolt Off, but had no luck. I’m using an adjustable wrench. Any
suggestions?

Very helpful. Thanks for the video.

@dyzenment That was an error in the title. The description of video and
content in video is correct. The title has been corrected to reflect this.
Thanks for catching the error.

I have the same issues on my 97 E38 740 IL. Replacing the sensor did not
fix the problem. I have continuity from pin two on the camshaft sensor male
terminal to the female DME pin 21. I am getting 12v for pin one. The only
thing I did not check is the voltage from pin 3 to ground. I purchased the
bentley manual and have registered it, but still no luck….

Michael Shaffer says:

Is it P0340 or P0369. In the video you say P0340 but in the title it is
P0369?
