I suggest to all those that are considering to do this to check the forums
regarding the BMW scanner v1.4. The one I bought did not work at the
begining because there was no connection between pin 7 and 8; don’t
know why mine came out different, but it seems that it is a common problem
depending from who you buy it. After I bridged the two pins everything
worked just as Ultimate Peter describes here with no problems at all.
Please do your own research since every vendor might have a
different configuration (internal) on their scanners.

Hey Ultimate Peter I have a 2002 M3 Convertible. Will this method and
software work for my car? Also, will I be able to do other things like,
turn on/off daytime running lights and unlock other things the car can do?
