@marcelstjean I have not always been a TV hero..lol , befor i was a truck
driver i worked in dealerships as a service tech, had my own shop for 2yrs..
I agree.. European not an import….Very similar to an A4….What was it’s
problem.?..I had one a few months ago that was diagnosed by someone else as
a timing belt failure and a starter motor failure….I found the A/C clutch
bearing seized….I flicked off the belt and away it went…installed a
short serpentine belt and the owner didn’t care if the A/C worked…
@ziggassedup That sounds like a lazy tech that did not want to check thing
out right…
Whatever happened to the days of the weekend motor swap without having to
take half the friggin’ car apart first. LoL You’re one of those can’t sit
around kinda guys I can tell. Hope your back isn’t going crazy on you while
you do this. I wish I had 1/2 your drive!

@ziggassedup The first eng had a droped valve, the eng im pulling out now
blew a head gasket .no comp in 2.3.4 so rather then throw $500 worth of
parts at this one i found a good used eng for $500 , the one im taking out
i’ll fix for something later, these eng used in good shape bring $1500 all
day long around here, and with the 20 valve setup they are a no
interference eng, That means if its idling and the belt breaks your wallet
will feel it 3 states away.lol
