In this video we show how to install a transmission mount on a Audi 8V A3. This DIY will be the same for a 8V S3, MK7 GTI, and MK7 Golf R, which are MQB chassis cars. The install process is fairly simple, but requires the removal of the intake, battery, battery tray, ECU, and movement of the wiring loom below. During installation, all transmission mount bolts must be replaced because they are stretch to yield. Our ECS Tuning mounts include new stretch bolts, which should be torqued as specified in the video.

Do you have any tips for people with the ECM that has the steel cage? I was able to get to the bolts without removing the ECM but it wasn’t pretty… wondering if there’s a better way.

Couldn't ECU being moved aside (after unscrewing)?… was no need to remove connectors.
"Find a flat spot under the engine" I guess that would not include the plastic oil pan. 😉
