No need for fancy tools. Did this in my index 12 n54 injectors. Cut old one off, used a pen cap shaped like the tool. Slid the teflon seal on, wrapped it tight in black electrical tape like 4-5 times. Waited a bit, took the tape off, slid the pen cap the opposite direction back on the tip to maintain the compressed seal.
Remove cap when installing injector 😀 ran like butter with no leaks.
1 make sure you walnut shell the intake ports. 2. if the injectors are good and test good then seal em. If not make sure you do not go for cheap counterfeit injectors off ebay or other cheap web sites. Bosch has tried to clamp down on the fraud by using a unique number on each box you can look up on their web portal.
This is a GEN-3 injector. There's a brass bushing at the inlet. And there's a microfilter underneath. This needs to be replaced, not shown as a Teflon seal replacement.

It also injects right into your wallet when the intake needs to be cleaned.
Should any lubricant be applied when using the tools to install the Teflon seals?
Daaaaam there’s a tool for that ? lol I done it many times and never needed a special tool.

direct injection engine, or as everyone else knows them, clogged intake engines
You do realize…. those seals…. Seal against the cylinder head…. and against the injector shaft….
ya know…
the injector shaft you gouged a massive groove in with your box cutter like a fucking moron….
use a pick. Be careful. Try to evolve your smooth brain to have a wrinkle or two.
I would replace them when you do the timing belt.
What if I just bought a new injector that came sealed do I still need the tool?
Final install of the seal should it be tight in the seat and not spin? Have to so some and want to make sure I do it correctly the first time thanks
What are people using for thee HDEV 5/6 injectors? They're larger than the ones in the 4 cylinder models, and the Amazon kit doesn't work.
I did not know how to do fuel injector seals. Thank you.
I actually just did this on my car plus a carbon cleaning a few weeks ago for the second time. What a pain! But not too bad
