VW/Audi Dogbone/Pendulum Mount Install DIY (MK7 GTI, Golf R, A3, S3)

In this video, we show how to install our ECS Tuning Pendulum Mount on an MQB chassis car. This is an easy beginner modification that helps reduce drivetrain slop. In just a matter of minutes, your car will have a more connected feeling with the road.

Designed and manufactured in the USA using the finest quality materials, we have designed a Performance Dogbone Mount to control the fore/aft movement of the engine to allow for seamless power transfer to the tires. Wheel hop is decreased, throttle response is improved, and gear engagement is more precise.
Our state of the art design starts at a custom machined, Billet 6061-T6 Aluminum 2-Piece Extension that houses a Stainless Steel, Teflon-Lined Spherical Bearing. This bearing replaces the factory-designed rubber bushing, featuring all weather seals that capture the spherical bearing to keep the elements out and keep the bearing operating maintenance-free.

This upgrade allows for smooth power delivery through the driveline and straight to the tires, all with very minimal chassis feedback to balance comfort with performance. All machined components are constructed of strong and lightweight 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum and are then anodized black for a great appearance and corrosion resistance. Genuine Torque-to-Yield fasteners are included for proper installation.

Can you still put a dog bone insert in as well? Or is it one or the other?

jeffrock21 says:

so how much of a stiffer result does the pendulum swap alone get? would that be a noticable difference? trying to decide if i should get the ecs dogbone insert done at the same time.. not looking to get any vibrations or noise in the cabin…. for my 2017 jetta gli, everyday ride w/ apr ecu and dsg tune. thanks!

Nate O'Neill says:

Why did you tighten the nuts with a torque wrench & then use a breaker bar after? Pushing it past the torque spec?

Panthers1521 says:

You are going to get at least 100hp with this.

Chase Farmer says:

What the hell is with the +90° LOL why not just use a NORMAL torque just like everyone else???

Francis JR says:

Does it fit on A3 8V 1.4 FWD please ?

Web site usually just mention 1.8 and 2.0, thanks!

Your videos are great, but really short. I appreciate the tutorials though. Thank you.

Is this in addition to the new Poly-Bushing for the Dogbone? On my 2006 A3 8P FWD 2.0T.

Does this work for B8 A4’s

Anthony Finfrock says:

I did this upgrade along with the dogbone and WOW what a difference it makes. You notice as soon as you drive the car that the shifting is better.

Alex Pike says:

Just to confirm before ordering, this reduces wheel-hop when launching the car, correct? Because that ish is awful

Majin2606 says:

This also fits the AUDI TTS MK3 can confirm, did the install today

Dan R Beranek says:

Seems like pendulum mount and dogbone mount insert may be a good to do together.  Let me know as I am considering this on my 2017 GTI.  Thanks for your videos!

Vidar G says:

Zach must be the most pleasant guy you've had doing these videos. He's so soothing in his talk. Would be great in an instructional relaxing video or an audio book or something.
