Do the needles come off the same way with an 01 TT?

Next line is blue/purple —> connect to external 12V. The last 3 lines:
black/yellow, black and black/brown solder together and connect 3 lines to
them. @ of them go into the mass positions in the OBD connector. The third
one do you connect to the minus of the external powersupply. Now you should
be able the bench-test your clusterunit at a table.. With kind regards and
good luck. Just leave me a message at eldiape.com guestbook 🙂

T4centrum says:

If you have a cluster unit with a green and a blue connector at the rear of
the unit, you need the blue connector. In that blue connector purple/red,
red and red/purple go to +12V. From those 3 lines solder them together, and
connect 2 lines. 1 of the 2 goes into the OBD connector, the other to the
external power supply. Next line is gray/red, that lines goes into the OBD
connector (K-line).

My interface works on the same pins 16 for 12v, 7for K line and 4&5 for
mass. If I am right I only the pin 7 do need to make the connection to the
cluster (but on the cluster WHERE?) Thanks again

Hunor deutsch says:

I almost thought you wont answer special thanks that you did. With my OBD
interface I can read the Eeprom through the OBD port in case the Cluster is
on the car. I allready have the necessary software (Vag eeprom commander).

You just need and extra OBD connector (partnumber eg 3A0 972 695 A ) @pin
16 +12V @pin 7 K-line or canbus @pin 4 and 5 connect to mass You need an
external powersupply as well, And for your aid, special software which is
capable of reading the eeprom, like VAGdash. Whish you succes and please
let me know if it worked out for you..

hello. where can I buy / order a lcd. because I have a similar problem.
Thank you. a beautiful day

Great tutorial! At minute 14;12 You conect the interface to the cluster in
order to make the test with Vag Com. How can I connect my interface to the
cluster to read its eeprom? How can I do this in a room having the Cluster
on my desk in front of my PC and not on the car. Thanks!

T4centrum says:

Hello, After a few hours of using the screen, the solderings will become a
bit warmer, with contact problems as a result. Soldering the connections
back again, makes them like new and could possibly solve the problem. Wish
you luck with your repair..
