Oh mine fit a 16mm allen perfectly — ’08 A4 2.0T S-line
Thanks for this video! I would have never figured it out on my own. Took 2 mins to do! Thanks again
Cheers. Handy vid.
thanks I was wondering what tool I needed? so the technician said It is a 17mm allen.
Thanks for the video dude!
Great. Thanks:)
Just what I needed!! Well done and thanks!!
Awesome help! 2008 A4 Do NOT take your car to a dealer for this. It is so easy. It cost me $6.37 for two bulbs and it took me 5 minutes in the parking lot with the flat blade screwdriver from the car’s tool kit. Long live DIY!
Very helpful! I used the screwdriver that came in the toolbox for the spare tire and it fit perfect.
Awesome 🙂
Thanks Man!
Thank you for the very helpful video, Duncan.
My 2006 Audi A4 Avant takes three 12volt 21watt bulbs, two for the brake light and one for the driving/parking light.
I was able to swap out the burned out bulbs in less than 10 minutes.
The screw holding in the unit takes a regular thin flat blade screwdriver.
Bulbs were less than $5 for a set of two at any parts store.
The fools in West Park Plano,Tx told me they would take $265 just to diagnose the problem and $216 for the tail light unit.Stupid fools
Thanks, I have a similar Audi. It isn’t quite the same but close enough to work it out from this. Saved me a lot of hassle and cash.
Thanks guys very helpfull video.i was wondering from where to open up.
Thahks
Ahhh…you don’t want to touch the new bulb head. It will blow out prematurely due to the impurities on the bulb surface. He did everything well except for this.
Thanks guys..
I have no idea. The difficult part was getting the cover off. You might want to begin the process and find out if this video helps. Just don’t force anything. If you can’t do it, then take it to the dealership and ask for their help. They should help you for free. Make a video while you’re at it. Please post your discoveries back here.
Will same method work on 06 a4 sedan
Great, easy to follow video. Excellent!
Thanks mate ..I’ve been agonising for the last 2 hours scared in case I broke the light ..Audi really are a bunch of highway robbers ..my Audi’s days are numbered ..it’s been an absolute pig since the day I got it..I’m going back to Passat
Thanks for this, a perfect video to help me out, been running with a light out for a few months now and figured I should really do something about it!
Thank you, I’m going to tackle my 2004 S4 Avant tail light tonight.
Cool very helpful, struggled to follow the manual instructions thanks for posting instruction
Cheers, the part about wiggling it / forcing it out helped a ton tonight at 10pm. I used a small flat head to take out the screw.
