That coolant hose flange is similar to what is seen in the Jetta, though it
seems harder to get to. VW engineers have evidently not yet solved the
problem of using plastic flanges against variably hot steel/aluminum parts.
I know steel flanges weren’t perfect, but you almost never have to replace
a steel flange….

plastic part. Not only does it speak to honesty, but also what to do next
