My 2008 a4 just gone in for a service. Belt was squeaking, so I asked him to change it. He just called to say tensioner needs changing too and that he has to remove front of car for working access, adding labour time. Does that seem reasonable to you? You seemed to manage fine on the video with it all in place. Thanks in advance.

First, thanks for the DIY video. What are the symptoms that it has gone bad? And/or how would I know when its time to replace..? Thanks
