Finally swapped my unit out, and it works great.
Some instructions for A4 B7 to relearn door function on upgraded Fob:
– unlock door with upgraded key
– insert key into ignition and turn to 'on' position
– close the door and roll window down as a precaution (escape)
– press the 'unlock' button on the Fob
– lock the door with the door button (not with Fob)
– unlock the door with the door button (not with Fob)
– remove your key from ignition
