Where did you get the pogo pins from?

Reece Turner says:

Hey, the pogo pins were used on my previous install with the 2012 Nexus 7,
this is the 2013 Nexus 7 which doesn’t have the pogo pin contacts on the
side of the tablet, but instead has wireless charging. John is right I’m
saying I have a wireless charger mounted to the rear of the insert,
although the way this is held in is I have put 2 small washers inside of
the tablets case, then aligned magnets with those washers on the back side
of the insert, either side of the charger. Magnets will have no effect on
the tablet at all like magnets did a few years ago with computer HDD etc.
As for the power, it is simply a 2A run of the mill usb charger for your
cigarette lighter, the wireless charger says it’s output is 1.5A, I can
assure you the charger does charged doesn’t hang on a percentage or
gradually go down, it actually does charge, even with me running the screen
permanently on, wifi, bluetooth, gas and a music player open, if people are
still sceptical I can even record a time lapsed video to show the
percentage climb :p And lastly, the audio is through bluetooth yes, I use a
Samsung HS3000 stereo clip which supports active pairing, so no messing
about pressing buttons every time to pair, it’s instant. It supports apt-x
audio codec for better audio quality, although I don’t think nexus have
this on board and are running A2DP. It also has a hands free function and
can pair 2 devices simultaneously, so with my tablet paired for music and
my phone paired for calls, they both work well together as the music will
pause when I phone call comes through, then when the call ends, music
resumes seamlessly!

John Kerr says:

This is not my install but this tablet doesn’t use pogo pins, it probably
uses a Nexus wireless charger mounted behind the center of the panel that
accepts the tablet. The charger has a magnetic pull that lines up with the
metal disks in the back of this tablet and keeps it quite firmly held in. I
like the idea of putting a slightly deeper recessed area at the bottom of
the panel so you can push and release the tablet from the car easily. The
power is probably supplied from a DC 12v to 5v 3A step down Converter Buck
Regulator (search eBay) into the wireless charger. With this Nexus wireless
charger if the power going into the charger isn’t enough the charger won’t
work so it has to be something like a Buck Regulator that is supplying the
power. Sound will be through bluetooth to keep it all wireless. It’s a very
clean and practical install. Looks amazing. Well done to the installer.
