In today’s video we are replacing the lower timing cover on a 2014 Audi Q5 with the 2.0T engine. The lower timing cover started to leak shortly after this car was serviced by a local shop. After the timing cover was pulled, we learned that it was damaged and needed to be replaced. Plus, we find more issues!
So here is a step-by-step video of how I repaired the lower timing cover on this Q5!

Few suggestions or must do things for this job:
– Get new hardware! Don’t reuse your old Torx T30s.
– Order the special tool for locking the crank to remove it.
– Get high quality sealant *see links below.
– Make sure you have a large breaker bar.
– Make sure you have a large torque wrench & a small one.
– Take your time and do it right the first time!

Cool video! How did you define the oil leak reason? It looks like it's impossible to find it without unplugging the timing cover.

Just bought my kid a ‘14 Q5 and found oil leaks underneath 2 weeks later. Questioning if this will just be something we have to repair over and over again lol
