I have an 07 a4 2.0T and it was burning oil at their acceptable rate. After my third time of complaining on of the technicians said oh its the turbo, it has a crack in it. the one tell tale sign was that it blew smoke every once in a while when accelerating. It doesn’t burn oil any more. I think they just don’t want to do a recall.
All the different Audi oil consumption stories have successfully scared the living shit out of me. I guess I won’t be getting an Audi after all. Audi’s obscenely high “acceptable level of consumption” at one quart per 1,000 miles is chucking rediculous. That combined with their “owner abuse or neglect” clause allows them to succesfully hide behind the law while giving their customers an enormous FUUUUCCCKKKK YOOOUUU. Good job Audi, now go fuck yourselves.
I have a 2009 a4 with the 1.8 lt turbo engine and would like to find an aftermarket larger capacity oil filter. The car is european specs. Can you help me.
Awesome thanks also. The oil light came up and said to add a quart I didn’t drive it for a day and when I got the oil and when to check the light wasn’t on anymore should I still at the quart??
Oil level will reset after you run the engine for 2 min then turn it off and keep the key on. Also the hood has to be closed during this time if the hood is open the oil level won’t reset, or if the hood latch sensor is faulty it won’t reset. For the service interval you need vagcom or Audi scan tool to reset but you can reset the oil change milage through mmi screen under car and oil service then hit reset.
It is very easy to do the brake pads and rotors, if you have any questions when you are going to do them email me and I’ll give you my phone number. I would also go with slotted rotors over cross drilled. They are a lot more noise when you get them hot over cross drilled but for street use slotted is the way to go.

cant wait to see the brakes video , i think i need to do mine lol , also how hard is it to replace the rotors , i was thinking of putting slotted rotors in
@Michael Anthony Hey Michael, first you can purchase a dip stick tool online that has a scale built into it to take a proper measure meant. If not you can use a Audi A6 3.2l dip stick it works as a suitable reference. Your issue might be a faulty hood latch micro switch or the oil sensor itself is defective. If the hood latch is defective the system will not allow for a reading. Hope that helps.

My MMI unit is saying it’s currently unable to read the oil level, I don’t know how much oil I have left. Is there a way of fixing that or another way of checking the oil? Is it possible to purchase a dip stick that works for this car?
Dope fresh nation sannnn
Hi Chris..excellent video.
Then….how do you change the transmission fluid for the B8 A4 1.8Turbo with CVT gearbox?
Or…how would you do it on the above car in the video? Is it difficult?
Turbos always burn more oil than a naturally aspirated car!

yes there is a hex style drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan.
Hey I was wondering if that’s the only way to drain the oil or is there a nut at the bottom like other cars

you can only reset the next oil change through the mmi screen but you need vagcom or audi scan tool to reset the inspection interval.
What are my options for resetting the service interval and oil level indicator?
Thanks man very helpful and informational deff getting a sub from me
after the oil is changed how do you reset the computer , i get a msg “service due”
