Hello
There is a problem in my car, lights of the gearbox numbers, and of the sun
roof switches and the main panel does not work.
Lights of the switches of the heating unit is weak.
What could be the problem?
Thank you.

invade81 says:

Thanks. I was about to do that but I took off the wiper blades and I could
see the splines turning when I hit the switch. It turns out that the wiper
mechanism had seized. I dismantled, cleaned and re-greased it and it
worked. I think my motor may be weak though as I’d read stories of them
even being able to move totally seized wipers (that needed loosening with a
hammer) – mine were nowhere near that bad.

invade81 says:

Thanks. Still got problems with my wipers. They worked only on high for a
while then DOA. My relay layout is slightly different (A4 Avant ’99). On
opening it it appears the fuel pump relay is actually missing, or in
another place (cant see it). There is a space for it where yours is.
Otherwise the layout is the same. I have 377 where your 389 is and an extra
387 up top on another row (above your higher level 204) which I believe is
the lights. I tested and replaced 377 relay box, seems good.

GaryKist_Automotive says:

if the wipers still aren’t working right after replacing the relay, check
the wiper switch itself. i have videos on how to get the steering wheel off
in order to get to the switch. look for melting or cracking around the
plugs.

PhantomLime1337 says:

Where is the fuse for the central locking? Thanks 🙂

GaryKist_Automotive says:

I have a ‘brake’, ‘abs’, and ‘airbag’ light on along with three loud beeps
when i turn the key. that means the abs computer is bad and needs to be
rebuilt. I suspect my cruise control doesnt work because of that. Its still
something I need to figure out. I dont know anything else about the cruise
problems yet.

GaryKist_Automotive says:

my cruise doesnt work either……..do you have any abs, airbag, or cel
lights on?

ROBERT CASTILLO says:

372 is the fuel pump relay .. Very common fuck up on b5’s

haha haha says:

thats no problem man,i mean the indicator of headlight which is located in
the fuse box.but i fixed it already, thanks 🙂

BajanBoy50 says:

I believe it’s no 2 always use a fuse with correct rating if problem
persists seek expert advice, good luck

GaryKist_Automotive says:

I think the big one is a combo for the wipers and lights, I dont know for
sure. Turn the headlights on, and pull relays until the headlights go off,
then you will know which relay is for the headlights.

haha haha says:

hello,i need to change my left headlight, where is located in the fuse box?

GaryKist_Automotive says:

Hey sorry but I’m not sure which is the central locking fuse

Art Alejandro says:

did you fix your ABS/Brake light? what about your issue with cruise
control? i have the same problems, i found out that my ABS module was bad
and I’m about to change it but i have no idea about the cruise control,
have you find any help? thanks

GaryKist_Automotive says:

i dont know, but you dont need to take the fuse out to change the
headlight. if only one headlight is out then the bulb is probably blown.

TheKebabCompany says:

Do you know which relay is for the driving lights? I have an Audi A4 B5 and
the driving lights are weak, I got around 11V when I measured it. And I
heard the relay was the problem.

GaryKist_Automotive says:

no i never fixed that…..i read that the abs module effects the cruise
control and if you rebuild the abs it will fix everything else….i just
never got around to that

dani devito says:
