How to replace a cam follower on a 2005.5-2008 AUDI A4 (B7).
A quick DIY showing how to replace a cam follower for the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP ) on a 2008 Audi A4 2.0T. This is a similar procedure on 2006+ A4s, but some earlier models had a banjo fitting on the bottom of the pump which requires an extra step. This is also similar to other Audi/VW 2.0T engines.
The cam follower wears out and if it gets too worn it can cause a loss of fuel pressure and throw an engine code such as 012555, P0089 or P310B – 004 – Fuel Pressure Outside Specification – Intermittent. It is a good idea to check your follower periodically to see how it is wearing.
