zavaroudikos says:

i got a headache from your video abilities. use a tripod. also as u can see
all people want to know HOW to remove this thing from the
dashboard………………………………

Tracy Nelson says:

How does this fix hold up? Every time I’ve fixed a relay like this, the
problem seems to come back in a few months. I’d rather just spring for a
new module than have to clean the old one 2-3 times a year.

Justin McLoughlin says:

righteous video bro. followed it exactly and it fixed my issue. you saved
me probably $40 and much headache. this took me about 20 mins total.

Deonte Deleon says:

how did u get it out im having a hard time wit the bracket

Ron Warren says:

Thanks Adam for the video. With your help and Randy’s advice on the newer
style points, I just saved $50.00……Thanks for the posting

Zhenhai Li says:

Thanks Adam! I just fix my relay. I have an Audi A6 2003. My hazard switch
is very close to this one. But I found that for my case, I don’t have to
push the metal spring out or push the plastic bar. I can just pry the red
triangle out and then pry the clip up, and take the whole thing out. And as
Randy Schaffner said the relays are different from the one in the video.
But I didn’t cut off the top of the plastic box. I just knocked it by the
screw drive, and put them back on. Everything good now.

Randy Schaffner says:

As said below by jessedc my 2002 has a newer style relay. Both black
plastic. The hazard is the square one, the smaller rectangle one is the
turn signal. There is nothing exposed. So I figured I have nothing to lose,
I took an Xacto knife and cut the plastic around the top and removed it.
Right under it is the points, they were stuck shut. I opened them and
scraped a little and now it works fine. Since it goes back in the case I
don’t see any reason it can’t be left open on the top. Thanks Adam

MAXLIBRA MAX says:

Great video, you just saved me at least 100 dollars labor+parts, I just fix
my, and work beautiful, thanks a lot!!!

Daniel Lacorazza says:

Thanks!!! I was about to take it to Audi and pay for a new relay.

Mian8v says:

aaaaggghhhh. please, please, PLEASE make a video of how you took the thing
out in the first place. that’s the hardest part for me 🙁

TheDoorprop says:

Thanks You!! This was my exact problem…. I followed your directions and
fixed this. There would be no way I would have been able to open this box
with out this video. The Audi dealership lost out on 110.00 and we saved a
perfectly good part creating no waste, besides several hours of my day! hit
me up of you want some of the new Doorprops. doorprop.com

weaselciuy says:

Dude, tomorrow i get the relay out from the car and if this works, wherever
you live, if i ever come, you have a free case of beer. 🙂

TheCathom says:

Thanks!!! I was about to go to the dealership but this method worked like a
charm. Youre the man

Greg brown says:

this was funny AND informative ..”whaatever, can’t do that with one hand…”

rushad0 says:

Thank you so much for posting this video. I just fixed my 2001 A4 using
your method and it worked.

Vahid Farahani says:

sweeeeeet ! i was about to go to the dealer and buy the part . . i believe
you need to take out the radio to remove the flasher relay am i right ? and
to remove the radio you need some type of tool that goes into the 2 small
holes on the face of the radio to release it and pop it out . .

gerryramone18t says:

very usefull information thanks for share!!!

laskowmike says:

it worked, thx alot

Peter Boudreau says:

Very helpful video… worked just as described for my 2001 A4… blinkers
working again!

xulu13 says:

Thanks bros. I almost have an accident because I have to blink my turn
signal manually. You are my life saver. Thanks again.

Jackson Smith says:

It seems a lot of people would like to see a video of you doing this
including me. Could you make a quick video of it?

Drew Milam says:

Any suggestions or tips on how to get this module out in the first place?

zrogles says:

Thanks! It was very helpful. Once I took apart the case, I realized my
circuit board is slightly different than yours. I have a 2001 A6 Avant
Quattro 2.8. The relays weren’t visible, I believe they are in the housing
with the small power supplies. I could see some corrosion around the bottom
of the housing so I used a qtip and rubbing alcohol to clean as best I
could and put it back together and now my blinkers work!

coolshariq says:

Thanks mate! But I m having hard time getting red triangle out, I don’t see
u had any problem at all

ThePavlos2010 says:

Awesome – thanks heaps from NZ! With your instructions opened mine up,
cleaned and works well again . . . saving the hassle and costs of taking it
in to be repaired. You now have some new friends waiting for you either in
NZ or Greece as well as the UK to buy you a few beers!

morpheousx says:

I did this fix and it worked for 1 day, then started to only work
sometimes, then it just stopped working all together, just like before. I
guess i have no choice but to get a new one. Only 30 bucks,so no big deal.

99Arlington says:

So great. Thanks! I followed all your advice & couldn’t really see any
corrosion but scratched away at the contact point anyway. Put it all back
together – voila! Turn signals are back! THANKS!!!

Adam S says:

The only true advice for removing the trim and relay is to be patient. The
plastic sucks (thanks to aging and German choice of plastic) so get a pry
tool at each side of the trim and slowly pry it until it snaps off. For the
relay, just do the same. Pry it out with 2 tools on each side. It slides
out, but requires a little bit of force.

Mark Craft says:

I wanted to add my thanks. Just fixed my 2001 A4 turn signals and saved
about $300. THe hardest part was getting the trim off. I found a tip online
about opening the cup holder halfway and sticking a flat screwdriver up to
gently twist and pop off the first of the 6 clips. I broke one clip off the
trim, but I superglued it back on. The whole thing works like a charm.

bestonbill says:

you fucking legend! you just saved me £50 before fitting costs, mine had
slightly different relays, but i had a scrape around at the base then
sprayed some contact cleaner on it…working sweet now. if you ever come to
the uk, mesage me through you tube, i want to buy you a beer, cheers mate,
cant thank you enough.

Mentor Xhaferi says:

i try as u explain, that was easy, and yes i find other video explaining
how to remove the relay from the car, i fix it and for now it work. thanks

datac1de says:

[2/2] after removing the two, stick one of the screw drivers on the top
left side of the relay module, and pull to loosen the plastic around it, if
you have a head mounted flashlight you should see shinny metal, this will
be the metal legs holding the damn thing in place, which he (in the vid)
removed in the beginning of the video. stick the 2nd screw drivers betwen
the plastic compartment and metal leg pushing the leg towards the module.
leave the screwdriver there. [2/3]

Peter Boudreau says:

Very helpful video… one can omit removing the plastic horizontal
rectangular-cross-section pin; also, place the metal spring clips back in
place before snapping the relay portion back into the case. When putting
the device back in the dash, if you pause to test it before pushing it all
the way in, the dash opening squeezes the device so that the hazard
triangle will not click in/out… just push the unit all the way in…
it’ll snap into place and the hazard button will work again.

RichieA1000 says:

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!! Works perfect!!! Appreciate it! 😉

fgaspar10 says:

Just did it and it worked fine thanks

Aidan O'Brien says:

Worked wonders! Especially handy since I’m getting a roadworthy tomorrow
and a new one would probably take at least a week to get here. Thanks!

Bren Bogert says:

Many thx. I actually had to clean the contact but also bend the relay
(outside arm) in a bit so it would contact better. Cleaning didn’t work
until i did the bend trick. Great vid, did the trick. Thx much.

nenadtol says:

GREAT! Thanks, this help me to fix the relay.

Jesse Coleman says:

Ok my unit looks identical to yours except the two relays inside are
different than in this video. i have 1 square relay box for the hazard and
one thin rectangle one for the turn signals and no visible contact points
for me to clean corrosion from. please give me any advice that you can

Clarence Taylor says:

Wow. I was just on here looking for where the relay is located so I could
replace it. Now I have to call the parts place and tell them I don’t need
the part. Sweet!

gearone1 says:

Just fixed my 2001 A4. Thanks so much! Had to clean it twice though. the
2nd time I skipped the spring and plastic bar removal. made it a bit faster
and still seemed to come apart fine. You just saved me like $50!!!
