Very good video ! That amount of rust is insane
8:00 For the 4-lobed cloverleaf shaped PCV Hose Ends, I used 2 flat-blade screwdrivers working around the 4 sides little by little, worked fine for me and was first time ever touching a Audi and i got them both off without breaking 150k miles
Bit late to the party with these engines. On the left side of the pcv valve top, there is a circular cap thingy, which has a small opening, is it a vent ? FYI, you're way calmer than I am reassembling all these parts.
Thanks man ,good video ❤
thanks mate. gonna tackle this on a $1000 audi a7 i got
Thank you so much for posting the pain my mechanic is going through right now. I don't do this kind of work anymore because I don't have a garage. Back in the day I could get up in the morning, remove the intake, cylinder heads, cam, water pump, timing chain off my V8 and put it back together by 4PM. Now it looks like it might take a day and a bit, especially with other plastic parts that might break. There was no plastic on the V8 other than the distributor and wire loom. I'd make gaskets out of cereal box cardboard and permatex for non water/oil contact parts.
I am about to tear apart this engine in my q5 I can’t find any videos any tips please and thanks
so much detail that you have to look carefully. I watched your video more than 10 times without rewinding to do the job myself. It took me almost a day to remove and put new parts back on. Even though the old stuff was stuck, I was completely exhausted. But in the end I managed to do it. Now you can breathe easy. thank you very much again
How frequently you have to do this? I wanna get an a7 c7 with this engine but in getting it for the looks and sound, not to abuse it daily, just a few pulls here and there from time to time.the parts are not that expensive but the labour expenses are insane,do u have to do this very frequent??
do these parts fit a 2011 model
A lot of hard work here. i love cars and always try to do something with mine to make its on good condition. But the PCV valve is something i need to watch this video 1000 times =)) probaly
Amazing video!
10/10
terrible ..not easy…junk euro..
IMPOSSIBLE DE VOIR LA VIDEO SANS PUBLICITES TOUTES LES 40 SECONDES C'EST CASSE COUILLE
That is significantly more work that I had expected. Thanks for the video!
You need to hook up a “dry ice” cleaner to give you a better working surface
You'r a legend. Ive bought a CREC B8.5. the PCV was changed around 2k miles ago, but it has fault for pcv performance along with cylinder 4 injector air/fuel imbalance. It has increased oil consumpsion and sometimes rough idle but the suction from oil cap is normal
I believe the waterpump and thermostat were already changed. so i may just check the PCV, do a carbon clean, and injector seals. Or i might do everything you have done just to make sure its 100%. Not sure yet
Has anyone found an easy way to get the 2 PCV pipes off the valve cover?
hmm no service position ?
WOW I am going to sell my A5 tomorrow. Great job.
