What was the failure you were fixing? The outside latch on my 2001 S4 no
longer works but the interior one still functions. Just curious as I was
planning to disassemble the door but didn’t know if I should expect to have
to order a new latch. If so, where did you get yours? Thanks in advance,
and thanks for the informative video!

Would have been nice to see the door locking mechanism, work after all
that. I wanted to know if it worked or not. lol

Jonathan Howerter says:

Thanks so much for your video. my door white bowden cable snapped and it
was due for inspection, the dealership and my mechanic wanted about 400-500
bucks. did it with my brother in a few hours for nothing!

Kevin Doglio says:

Pretty funny. The thing actually did work! Thanks for the comment.

Kim Tulkki says:

I have 98 Audi A4 and the back door on the right side sometimes doesn’t
close or open. any idea?

I have a 1998 A4 Avant 2.8 that has a blown front passenger door speaker (
not Bose ). Your instructions seem to be the way I would remove the panel
to replace the speaker. Are there any clips on the door panel to pop open?
I will replace the speaker with another factory speaker that is the same.
Thanks.

My 01 Audi A6 dosnt unlock my doors sometimes what is the solution to get
that fix?

Paul Volk says:

would this be similar to 99 a6?

Kevin Doglio says:

Glad it helped. It does seem like something this fundamental should be
covered by a recall.

Kevin Doglio says:

There were no clips that I remember on the 2000. Good luck!

Kevin Doglio says:

The latch would no longer hold the door closed. It just wouldn’t latch.I
knew it needed a new latch before I took it apart. Good luck with the
project.

video tutorial, if and when mine shit the bed.

Thanks i have been looking for one of thoes videos! it was really helpful!

Jonathan West says:

Thanks very much for the great video! I just changed the front passenger
side door latch on my 2000 a4. I would not have attempted this without
seeing this video. p.s., I think the latch must be a bad design, audi
should have recalled it – not good for the latch to fail and have the door
to pop open!

Kevin Doglio says:

I really don’t know what the problem could be. Sorry.
