chigger38 says:

how the hell do u take out the cruse contold one!!!! thats the hardest!!
and u didnt show it

nukem384 says:

you can try, but i dont think youll be able to get a screwdriver in there
to remove the screws.

Junior Portillo says:

i used a dremel and replaced it later :/

Joe Fresko says:

EXCELLENT POST! IF YOUR PROBLEMS STILL CONTINUE; Remove the sensor, and
place the electronic part somewhere dry and safe. Now there is a small
nipple exposed, make sure it can spin freely, if not soak in WD-40 and let
it soak. when you get it spinning smoothly and freely, put a dab of grease
back onto that nipple stub, place the electronic component back on, and
reassemble your TB, your car should be running like new!

azura13liss says:

do i have to take off the entire throttle body just to take off the IAC?
can’t i just take off the IAC itself with out messing around with the
coolant lines and TB?

Junior Portillo says:

i have the same problem, how did you fixed it? i need help, in Honduras i
can’t find the valve set 🙁

Kris Keller says:

whats that hammer screwdriver tool called?

SenneyKuel says:

Same issue on some older WRX subies. But thankfully a hell of allot easier
to get to and service.

nukem384 says:

just put it back on the way it came off. if your revs are still jumping, it
could be one of the other parts in that area

Evan Hall says:

Hey dude I got a question, after you take off the iacv sencor, is there the
correct way you need to put it in? I cleaned my TB and iac valve, now my
rpm jumps between 1k-2k rpm

John Doe says:

Which line is the AIC cable? There are two blue clips and a black one.

jaymeez says:

I got idle issues but I thought I had a tranny issue (I’m not a mechanic
and my diagnoses are usually wrong) I got a Isuzu Trooper and everything on
that bitch is expensive when I take it to the shop, so I’m scarred to take
it in now; worried they might say okay you need a new tranny give us 2k.

phipp8 says:

nicely detailed. good job. I think I might clean mine tonight

PrzPnc says:

This worked for me! Thanks a bunch!

Aaron Boon says:

What size are the torx screws for the sensor part?

Evan Hall says:

Hey man, thanks for the quick reply. I took my TB and IACV off today again
and the problem still continues, Ishould I take it to acura?

Vy Huynh says:

After cleaning the iacv the idle no longer hunts at a stop but when coming
to stop the tranny skips 2nd and goes from 3rd down to first and there is a
rough jerk… any advice?

Jon Basiliadis says:

Hey Evan i have the same problem with idle reving up and down. Im cleaning
IACV and changing another sensor. An easy way to find out is start car then
look under hood unplug one sensor at a time and if the engine trys or
starts to run normal then that is the sensor that is bad. Go from there.
Hope this helps.

Richard Cristo says:

I have done this before and you need to take electronic So you can clean
the inside with a Q-tip and a lot of the brake cleaner and also you need to
spin that little thing inside the electronic to get it really really clean,
my valve was very hard to spin and after I clean it it spun freely, put it
back and my car idle like new from factory

nukem384 says:

id do some searchs on honda tech first and see if you can find anything.
there are a couple other parts in that area that can be cleaned, cant
remember which tho right now. if those dont fix the problem, then yeah id
bring it to acura or your trusted independent shop.
