Thanks, good luck!
great video about to change mine now….
Excellent video!
Just for you!
Very helpful cause my thermostat needs to be replaced in my Integra
By far one of the BEST vidies on Youtube.. Thanks !!!
I have heard that. Inline 4’s are about as simple as it gets, and the car’s
old enough that they don’t put all those ridiculous plastic covers
everywhere.
Easy car to work on, my z32 its a pain lol
Creates a seal.
What exactly does a gasket do?
Great video
Use JB weld on the the crack and let it sit for 24 hours! I have a similiar
crack and it works perfectly.
very helpful video
I think it would be a good idea to purge it after installing the thermostat.
They seem to run fairly cool, at least mine does. It doesn’t quite make it
to the mid-point for me.
Hi I replaced my thermostat on my integra. However the needel didn’t really
move so much. I thought it would at least bring it close to mid point what
else could cause this.
Probably shoulda drained the fluid first lol. Nice vid tho
No cold air intake ?
Completely stock, as of now.
your video was very helpful.thanks
Fahrenheit. If it were Celsius, it would be about 90.5.
The coolant from Honda is orange.
Damn I wish my integra wasnt stolen.
it works fine now .. so idk
1) Honda has an excellent Service Manual. Do you have the Honda Service
Manual? 2) You may want to adjust your valves, I think they sound a little
noisy, but I can’t really tell.
Congratulations!
195 Degrees?!!! Do you mean 95 degrees…
Haha thank you, my integra rarely receives compliments, but I do love it.
use some thicker oil. and a high mileage oil wouldnt hurt. get a 10w 40
high mileage of some sort. that will help the burning oil issue… also
putting some lucas oil stabilizer in might help as well. depending on how
bad its burning oil i would add both 10w 40 and a qt of lucas…. or if its
REALLY bad some 20w 50 and lucas…. if you put thicker oil in, the engine
will hold up for quite some time. without it, it may not…. how many miles
are on it?
Gets a gates racing low temp one it’s like 15 bucks and well worth it
My mom’s Ford Explorer was overheating, I found a leaking heater control
valve and replaced it but it’s still overheating. I can hear the coolant
boiling or bubbling which is obviously a very bad sign, what’s weird is
when the engine is shut off coolant overflows out of the reservoir, then
after a while the overflow is sucked back in and the top radiator tube
seems to collapse from a vacuum. I’m guessing it’s some sort of thermostat
problem?
Me neither, good to hear!
This is true, peace of mind is a good reason to simply do it yourself.
Thanks for the tip. A closed thermostat at start-up wasn’t an option for me
haha
Twisting it didn’t work. Didn’t try any silicone spray but honestly I don’t
think there’s an angle I could get it underneath very well. It was
basically glued to the housing. Warm water worked pretty well for me.
mine failed open and i drove it for 2 years with an open cooling system the
car was fine as long as it didn’t get cold
Great video by the way
have you explained cooling and lubrication could you make a video and also
a video on service and inspection pls
Why didn’t you bleed your car ?
Brilliant thank you, maybe you could start a series on how to’s with your
Honda? Seeing as how most Honda’s are the same it would appeal to a broad
audience!
Probably possible, it was just kinda in my way. Good tip though.
To get big hoses like that off, I use a large L-shaped pick. Slide the tip
of the pick under the hose between the hose and the metal pipe, breaking
the calcification there, then twist and pull. A very wise mechanic once
told me that the first job of a cooling system is to allow the engine to
heat up as fast as possible. Although it seems a contrary notion, a closed
thermostat at startup is the key.
i have that car! same color! i love my integra! (:
bravo on doing all this while filming it too.
