Thing is, you can change it without removing the clamps and pulling it all completely apart. You just have to flex the “springy” hose to do it. Isn’t there is a reason that they made it springy after all?
Watch for the very small hose coming out of the larger spring-like hose as it breaks very easily when you pull up the large hose. You might find it easier to push the entire cover towards the center of the engine and lift up the filter cover from the other end. You may not even have to loosen the two clamps before doing this.
