Hey bro you could of taken off the mounting bolts from the ps pump and move it to the side to get more access to the alternator without having to disconnect the ps pump good job tho

About how long would this DIY take at home?

Clark Kent says:

Those two bottom bolts are a bitch. You can't get a ratchet down there, even a flex handle ratchet. Used a 3/8" drive breaker bar with shallow socket and a 1 1/2" 3/8 extension. Jockeying the alternator past the AC hose and power steering pump is no fun either. Did the rear brakes five years ago, the easiest and quickest job ever. I was praising.the designers and automotive gods on that one. Hope the starter never goes on this car; what an effin nightmare.
