You should pull the code, that will help to point you in a direction as to
what might be causing the issue. If you need more help, feel free to reply

flashing and the speedom still not working. Thanks.

It migh be in a similar location on your vehicle. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Is it the same for manual transmission 4 cyl?
would my vss be in the spot if i have a 1998 Honda Civic DX Hatchback?
my speedometer was acting up, dancing around, so i changed, it (thanks to
your video, i might add), but after i changed it, now it doesn’t work at
all. did i miss something. o.o
Thanks that video is really helpful. Do we also need to buy the metal
looking part that attaches to the speed sensor that you installed in this
video?
Your best bet would be to bring the car to a mechanic and have them read
the error code that is popping up by the computer.
It might be, although the part number is different. For that
year,make,model vehicle.
Hi Sean, The part that we carry can be seen on our website. It should be
the whole assembly for your car. What the picture shows would be exactly
what you will receive. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
@matthalllars my 95 does the exact same thing,i changed the ignition switch
and main realy and nothing, did u ever figuere out what it was
A bad or malfunctioning speed sensor will often cause a service engine
light error code, shifting problems, or rough running due to inaccurate
computer or ECM readings. You may want to check this first to see if it
could be causing all of these problems. We carry new ones on our website
for your vehicle with free shipping. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Hi 1aauto, thank you for postin this helpful video, I just change the speed
sensor on my 91 accord but when I went for a test drive and I reached 25
mph I steped on the brake and the engine stayed accelerated so I had to use
the emergency break to completly stop and after that my car does not start.
What do think I missed? Thank you very much for your help.
You may want to check the fuse box for a burnt out fuse.
hola tengo un honda accord 1992 lx.. le remplase el speed sensor pero no
funciona como quiera el contador de millas. que otro problema puede ser ?
gracias por adelantado..
I have 2001 Accord EX manual transmission. Is the location is the same from
this video? Thanks…looking forward to your respose.
would a bad ABS sensor set the ABS light on?? i have a 02 civic si and the
driver axle was replaced and after that the ABS light went on. The old
axle’s teeth were grinded up because the lower ball joint ate the teeth
because the lower ball joint popped up out of place rubbing against the
axle teeth and now the teeth are new on the new axle and the lights on. so
bad sensor maybe??
Are there any other lights on such as an air bag light? or is there
anything else not working on the car. That code (might) also point to an
air bag issue.
thanks for help.i get honnda accord 91 when i`m driving light going out and
speed in control not work.i put new batterie and alternater but stay same
prblm ,did you get any idea please,.
You may want to check the kick down cable to see if there’s an issue with
it.
@gonzalezmarcus06 It should be in the same spot as shown in the video.
@1aauto Thank you !!!
@triplexxx818 HI, me gustaría empezar con la sustitución del sensor VSS si
es malo. Una vez que el indicador de velocidad se fija el kilometraje
también debería empezar a trabajar. Espero que esto ayude.
@matthalllars if the D4 light is blinking, then something may be wrong with
the transmission, saw it on the cars manuel
i need to replace a speed sensor in a 1991 mercury cougar. how different
would it be?
@182emabee We currently do not have a video that shows you how repair this
part on this particular vehicle. If you have a Haynes or a Chiltons manual
it may show you in there.
@meximan747 You may want to make sure that there’s not a loose wire
somewhere, or possible bad ground.
my honda was work at times and at time not got a 95 accord v4 and a
mechanic looked at it and said he replaced it but it still does it a bit
less now but still have a problem, any help?
i have a question would greatly appreciate if you could help. my 96 civic
ex manual speed-odmeter isnt working at all, i was looking at the part
online and its the whole vss including the shaft with the gear at the end
that goes into the transmission not just the sensor part. is it a different
install than what you did in the video or is it roughly the same?
Thanks for watching! Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
would a bad vss sensor cause incorrect reading. spedo reads 20km faster
then actual speed?
thank you so much for your time, but this week i’m am going to try to take
it to a dealer.again thanks alot
It could be. You may want to take a look at it to see if it has stopped
working.
HI James, Is there a check engine light on in the vehicle? If there is you
may want to pull the code, as this should point you in a direction. If
might also be an issue with the throttle position sensor (TPS) 1aauto.com

is it the same for a 1990 accord auto??
Fixing mines tomorrow, very good video. I already knew where it was located
and how it looked.
@Pgarcia1121 You may want to check the fuse going to it and also look for a
bad ground or wire that could be broke causing it not to work. If the
speedometer works fine, then it shouldn’t be the VSS.
There may be a bolt at the base of it that holds it in place.
On my Odyssey (281k miles) the speedometer and odometer stopped working at
same time. Is this most likely the cause?
@bladelee36 I have a 97 TL2.5, mine was located on driver side, to the
right of the oil filter. Easy to reach, tough to maneuver, but still simple
@ehowards You may want to start by checking the fuses to see if they are
good. If they are, then check the connection to the VSS sensor on your
Nissan Altima, to see if it’s plugged in correctly.
The sensor may be bad on it.
@MrScottysinherdreams You may also want to check the speedometer cable.
it should be the same concept just on the opposite side of the engine best
location i can describe is find your distributor go towards the fire wall
and down on top the tranny and you should see it
You may want to have the code pulled in the computer as this should point
you in a direction as to why the light is coming on.
