Great video. This happened to a TL I had and this video really helped out. Good work.

TTwins01 says:

Thank you for NOT being a dumbass and trying to tell the world to remove the center console and a bunch of other BS.

wagnis2 says:

Is there any way to tell if it’s just the wire that burned out, or if the entire element has to be replaced, without taking everything apart?

NewHighScore84 says:

Great video I can’t wait to try this. Can you show how to fix the lumbar support. My lumbar broke also. 🙁

THANK YOU!!! I followed your instructions on a 2004 MDX and it worked perfectly. Burn out was in the exact same spot. Slightly different covers on the seat bolts, but otherwise 99% the same. Those hog rings were a real pain though. Not too bad to get off, but I had to use two pair of needle nose pliers to get them back on. THANK YOU!!!!

thanks for this DIY… you have helped keep many bottoms warm

clsprogression01 says:

my passenger last month noticed only half of the seat was heating up so i knew something was wrong. I took apart the seat and sure enough there was a severe burn mark where the fault was. however the wire was NOT burnt through. it looked like it got really warm and stretched out which made it get too hot and malfunction. Anyways THANKS to this video i had the confidence to get the job done and it was done with NO SWEAT. everything was super easy accept getting those frigging rings back on omfg

JoshsWorld.com says:

Yes. Check out the link to my website in the description. An MDX owner posted a comment stating that the repair job is the same, except the MDX has more hog rings.

notedown1010 says:

will this work on an mdx?

Nicholas Miller says:

Thanks for the demo. My wife doesn’t like to read car manuals and likes to have a warm tush…that equals a burnt out driver’s seat. What gauge wire did you use?

stalin franco says:

what kind of cable can i use? can i use any kind of cable

Eric Donkers says:

I had the same problem with my 2002 Acura TL-S. I followed your instructions explicitly. Perfect perfect perfect! I am not a mechanic and rarely tackle things in my car. I also found the problem exactly as you described. When I had removed everything down to the wires, I noticed the metal bar thing that is held in place by those clips MIGHT be the cause? Could it be shorting out the wire elements? As a precaution I covered that bar in electrical tape. The rest was as described-thank you!

Matt Bastian says:

might be worth adding that undoing the bright yellow clip under will most likely set off the srs light on the dash. or it should, it did in my accord.

Jin Yang says:

Wanna come fix my CL for me? The driver seat heat is out too. lol. Damn… Must be a Acura, CL, TL thing. So much wires and stuff. Seems like lots of work.

Paul Russo says:

Dude, you are great. I ran across this video by accident looking for other items for my 2000 Acura TL. This is a treasure. I would never have known the cause of this problem nor the remedy. Thanks!! Great Job!!!!

glowstringsamuri says:

where do you get that wire from?

DEREK MOFFATT says:

Yo. I’m having a problem all of a sudden in my 2003 Yukon Denali. I turn my drivers side heated seat button on and it clicks under the seat then it kicks off. But the front passenger and back seats are fine. Although, when I throw my drivers heated seat on when the passengers is on, it will kick it out as well. I’ve been told its probably not the button, but the wiring relay or the module control itself under the seat. I want to take it in but lookin to see if I can do it myself. Any idea’s?

goodtimessurfing says:

Thanks! – The dealer wanted $800 to do it & I did it in 3 hours with this vid & a few tools. I have an 08 so mounting & connectors were a little different. There was no scorch mark where the wire was broken but with a volt meter a little poking around I found the break, fixed it & my butt is warm again!

ojntk says:

Nice, Now can you do mine? Thanks for the help!

imperialsoulja says:

Anyone know how to do the back?
