i put the spark plugs cables in different order?? what should i do im
driving a chevy 5.7 1995???my car won’t start…

AtomicTankGaming says:

Can old and (at least one) cracked engine mounts cause shaking at high
speeds / clunking over bumps / clunking when rolling in neutral? Also get a
slight clunk when going from reverse to drive.

Things i have done to my 2000 Nissan Maxima:
1. I put on new front quick struts, and i am putting rears on tomorrow.
2. new front tires / balancing / alignment (after mechanic had to install
new ball joint on right side)
3. outer tie rods are only like a year old…
4. installed new CV axle on driver side(riding around with the boot off too
long and was clicking) and mechanic said passenger side looked good.

I also poked around and everything on the front end looks alright… yet i
cant figure out why my car shakes around 55-75 MPH and clunks over some
bumps(Sometimes small or even large).

P Chance says:

I’m having the same noise come from my 2009 Nissan Altima. There’s a small
amount of play when testing the inner tie rod but the noise is too loud to
be that.

Robert61494 says:

I have a creaking noise when I go over bumps, like speed bumps at a slow
speed, and sometimes faintly when i am turning, i have brought it to the
mechanic to have them check it out and they haven’t found anything. Any
ideas?

Jared Schwager says:

WOW that motor mount was BAD! I thought the passenger mount in my Focus was
bad but this takes the cake!

journeyquest1 says:

Something loose in the strut unit? I had a creeking, squeeking noise in my
old C10 truck. Guy says its your coil spring and i can fix it for X amount.
While i was under the truck i noticed a grease fitting missing. Turned out
to be a dry ball joint. Sears greased it for less than 20.

Levi Omighty says:

Driver like you stole it haha.

Cesotoseot says:

I have a Mark VI Jetta GLI with 5000 miles on it that started making a
sound like waving around a plastic bag whenever I go over small bumps in
the road at around 40 mph. Checked the tires, checked for anything loose,
and I can’t find anything. Anyone have any ideas?

strikeboyz says:

Hi, I hear noise like a screech/squeek as I come a complete stop but it is
not from my front tires it is from my back tires maybe its the muffler too?

Rye Shannon says:

I have one i drive a 02 civic dx and when i make sharp 90 degree right
turns i hear a “knocking” i dont hear it when i make a left. Now i did
replace my left side bushing on my stabilizer link however the right side
was not replaced would it be wise to go ahead and replace that? Thanks

Ryan Vidler says:

My Dode ram 1500 shakes sometimes when braking, it also has creaking noise
when sitting steal and i turn the steering wheel. Lastly on occasion the
truck feels like i am bouncing in my seat mostly after turning right or
making a u turn. rotors and brakes pads completely replaced and brand new.
Rack and pinion replaced last nov. Any ideas?

Persian Pride says:

my suspension rattles driving over cracks after swapping springs.

jordanananders says:

I have had the engine mounts go out on my 06 RL twice.

Brian Stapleton says:

use a rubber mallet and hit the acctual parts intead of the tire more
contact less noise

Do Right says:

Tnx Eric. Very detailed video. in 3 words … you covered it. It may seem
overwhelming to those unfamiliar to pars, fits and clearances but my
opinion is that after receiving service bills there is usually plenty of
free time to invest in saving with a “do it yourself” approach. Also with
control arm and sterring rod joints (either tie-pitman) connections it is
important to understan that a wheel can “free float” meaning the wheel with
a broken connection on a ball joint can potentially allow the wheel to
“tip” straight into the wheel well causing so much drag the car can vere
into direction unintended such as oncomming traffic if on drivers side.
Same with steering component ends. The point i am making is get it
identified and fixed on way or another to avoid future risks. All the parts
do work together and a weak link usually tends to borrow libe from it’s
siblings components. much like everything els )))

It’s sad to see how many of you comment on this dudes videos, asking for
car help when A, it sounds like you don’t really know what you’re talking
about, and B, what it really seems like is you won’t take it somewhere to
get it looked at and save yourself a few bucks.

Z33 Garage says:

Not sure if he forgot, but also check the pillow mounts on the top of the
shocks. Many people forget they are actual rubber mounts and will wear. I
have seen real bad cases where the shock will literally move up and down
within the top mount… O___O

skylinefan3465 says:

Hi Eric, any tips for diagnosing a dodgy shock absorber on the front?

I know of the “bounce test” but what else can/should I look out for?

Angel Boyd says:

Thanks for this video! Very informative, I’m definitely going to consult
your videos if I happen to have an issue and want a better idea as to what
it could be before having an anxiety attack.

Bill Turnbull says:

Great video Erik; I have a 1998 four runner and it makes a sound like a
spring popping sound. It happens sometimes even when I just sit in the car
on the drivers side. I just can’t pinpoint it. Got any ideas on that one?
Thanks

AcheLone says:

can the clunking noise caused by lower arm ball joint?

o0Orange says:

how much you charge for a job like that?

Car Inspectors says:

Hey Eric, how about pulling to the right ONLY when accelerating. I’ve
already replaced two bad motor mounts which needed replacing anyhow, but
didn’t fix the problem. 95 Civic.

iHAVEaBADname25 says:

Hey eric! I just got my 2014 mustang and when i had only 1500 miles my
tires makes noise every time i go for a red light stop or stop signs, (not
sure which tire) and now i have 10000 miles it got worst it making noise
even in a straight run, i have went to my dealership already but those
rookie mechanics can not fix it, i don’t wanna call them stupid but can you
help me with this issue.

EndofUSA says:

HI Eric. I try again in case you weren’t able to read my question. There is
a kind clunk that reaches my steering wheel when I hit little bumps on the
road. I have already changed by idler arm bushings, center link, steering
shock, inner tie rods. What else could be the cause? thanks.

phuturephunk says:

I hit a pothole earlier this week and now I have a noise. It’s a slight
low pitched kind of mechanical noise accompanied by the car feel being
‘rougher,’ if that makes any sense. I hate this type of shit because it’s
almost impossible to diagnose. I already took it into the shop to see if
there was a problem with either the tires, bearings or suspension but they
couldn’t find anything except my drivers side front being slightly out of
balance. I hate this..I can hear it and it’s annoying as all get out but
they can’t find anything.

mathew1929 says:

I have a 1990 toyota pickup and I heard it one today. I was turned all the
way to the left and heard a clunking/knocking noise from the front left
area. I was going up a small bump in my backyard, I heard it went back a
little and then pulled forward again and heard it once again. I’ll check
more tomorrow. It was 10 o’clock at night and I was worn down.

Daniel Klein says:

Thanks for your insights and sharing. I try to do a little work now and
again and so often hit an impasse then bring it in to my mechanic as I
don’t have the proper tools and equipment. He is always impressed when I
have diagnosed the problem for him. Again, A Hearty Thank You.

VL123 says:

wow…irony I am watching this 3 yrs to the day it was made.

Serpentine belt is lookin’ a bit shabby too.

mrkongsimr says:

I love this video , I´m always at some shop asking to find my noises and
they lift it up and shake the wheels . Then they say no , nothings wrong ,
it´s an old car and they all have noises.
Where in the US are you ? Are you a car mechanic as well ?
Thanks

KX36 says:

My car rattles at the back as it goes over bumps or on changes in speed at
low speed. What it is is the exhaust heat shield has corroded through on
several of the bolts. Took it to a mechanic but as he said it’s kind of
inevitable as it’s an aluminium part attached to steel somewhere that
frequently gets wet and in winter covered in salt solution from the road.
Used cable ties to reattach it which lasted about 6 months. The holes have
rotten wider than the bolts so they don’t hold it on, I was thinking of
using some very wide washers to bridge the gap. Other than that I don’t
know what to do as it seems however I reattach or replace, it will just
corrode again.

You’re the man Eric! Thanks for the killer tips, your help is much

hi I have a Suzuki esteem 1998 and every time I hit a bump a really ugly
squeaking noise sounds….what could that be?

wildboy92004 says:

Same sound my car is making on it’s front passenger side as well. Plus I
see a lot of grease on of the Control Arm bolts which I think is grease
slowly leaking out of the Strut or Shock or whatever my vehicle has; I’ll
have to check my Chilton’s manual. Thank you for taking the time to video
this :)

Have a sound on my integra i think its the lower ball joint. Makes soo much

Demir Pupovic says:

hey eric, im driving a 2010 mbenz e350 4matic. im having an issue that when
i drive, i hear noises on the road. i checked the suspension and i checked
to see if the hood might be loose but everythings seems to be in proper
order. if u find out id gladly appreciate it. thank you!

jdm_ftw says:

Has that tire been put on inside out (the wrong way)? Because I can’t see
any writing on the tire wall outside but on the inside I can clearly see
Michellin 235/45 R17. I would expect to find that on the outside.
Just wondering. Thanks.

Great video

I’m your proud 481,201 subscriber. Cheers for the videos Eric.

Zechaj Moore says:

sounds exactly like my car, every bump/little imperfection in the road
makes that clunk noise near the front left tire. Smooth roads a little bit
but not so much at higher speeds either. It doesn’t clunk when i push down
on the hood and rock it though. Taking it in tomorrow to see what it is.

bara moso says:

when i release my clutch i hear a knocking noise on my steering wheel what
about it. is it a constant velocity joint? or universal joint of the
steering?

George M says:
