Hey I’m wondering I hear on the 3.2 after changing the front mount people
indicate vibration at stop. Did you get that and do you replace this mount
with aftermarket and if so brand do you recommend?

Your videos are one of my fav’s to watch thanks for doing it

Nice work! I appreciate your creating this and sharing it. It looks very
similar to the front mount my ’07 Odyssey — which I’m planning to attempt
in the next week or so. Subscribed.

Outstanding Video!!

i was told that i needed front mounts for my 1999 honda accord coupe v6
during my last service appointment at a local honda dealership i declined
at the time, cos’ my bill was already approaching 1K. nonetheless, i’ve
since researched online and have come to the sad and sober conclusion that
the front motor mount is beyond me. having said that, i just scheduled an
appointment to have it done at the dealership this coming monday. good luck
to all with this one ;o(

@briansmobile1 car guru, I have an 85 stripper 305 camaro and want to put a
quadrajet carb on it but not sure if this will interfere with the stock
305, disrupt vacuum ect. advice?

SuperchargedMustang5 says:

Looks hard

Westside808kauai says:

and it is the front mount.

Mark Smith says:

Thanks, thou it was hard for me, but I replace it, it took me 3 hours, next
time it’ll be much easy, Now do you have instruction on the rear mount,
I’ve search all over on the internet, to see how to replace the rear mount,
no doubt I can do it, but I’ll need some advice from a pro. thanks

Westside808kauai says:

Hi, I have a Honda accord and the place where you bolt up the bracket to
the motor is broken and I don’t know what to do any suggestions? Thanks

flyromeo3 says:

dude,…youre excellent in making this video. This will also work for those
with a 04-08 TL. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video .

Mark Wells says:

If possible the best fix would be to install a helicoil. If you can take
off the bracket it would be advisable. Room is a big problem. If you take
the engine mounts loose and raise the engine be sure to undo the ground
straps or they will break leading to charging and other electrical problems.

Hello, I own a 2000 Acura 32 tl and I had just tried to replace alternator.
When I removed the bolt holding alternator I did not remove serpentine
belt….so you probably know what happened? Yes the bolt stripped the
threads. Wanted to know the steps to raise engine enough to gain access to
hole with drill so it could be re-threaded. There is hardly enough room to
get my hand in yet alone a drill. Any advise..please help? thanks

Just did a handa pilot and that very hard one is very easy to do just
remove the plastic shroud thats underneath and there is room to put a box
wrench this a very good detail video thanks dud very helpful !!!!!!!

reweydewy says:

I cant even count how many of these I have replaced on Odysseys and Pilots.
Both equally as much only on the late ninety early 2000 models. Then they
finally changed that stupid design. I made many flat rate hours off these
crappy mounts. Good for me bad for owner/customer

rtthomps says:

I just wanted to say thans for this excellent video and good tips. It saved
me a lot of headaches and time changing the front motor mount on my
Odyssey. Keep up the great videos.

briansmobile1 says:

@1947froggy I kind of figured that’s what that was about. Thanks for
school’n me up on that.

briansmobile1 says:

Check that front mount with a light and a mirror. If it’s got over 90K
miles on it just replace it.

kid123000 says:

How do I know if my engine mount has to be replaced? Are there any noises
while driving or does the engine run differently? Great video and as always
very helpful. I love it 🙂

briansmobile1 says:

@JohnzCarz Thanks. having trapped these expensive wrenches before, I’m
pretty good to watch out for it now. = O

JohnzCarz says:

That’s a good tip about trapping the ratcheting box wrench – I love using
those wrenches but never though about that happening.

Sorman26 says:

I have a 99 Acura TL 3.2. Recently, I noticed a clunking noise coming from
the driver side when I hit a bump. I found that the upper ball joint is
shocked and I replaced that as well. However, after the replacement, it’s
still clunking. I check both tires by 3 and 9 and 6 and 12 o’clock just to
see if there’s any noise but there’s none. I am starting to think it’s the
motor mount. Any ideas?

kobi8231 says:

How many hours of work would you say this is? For a shop?

MoH ALO says:

Why there is a vacuum hose on the motor mount…???

Johnathan says:

is this an ECM mount or just regular non ECM?

briansmobile1 says:

@SuperchargedMustang5 Yes, but it’s got a juicy middle!

briansmobile1 says:

@roro560v8 I was thinking that it had to do with engine RPM and mount
resistance to engine torque roll. I vacuum tested the old one to see if it
was leaking and creating a drivability problem- nope. Chuck Testa! I don’t
know what the hell it’s for.

reweydewy says:

The rear engine mounts on these cars go frequently to not nearly as much as
the front but still good to check by using reverse gear and gas and brake
at the same time.

Ryan Richards says:

How many miles were on the Acura when the mount failed?

briansmobile1 says:

You’re welome!

briansmobile1 says:

@jbone2470 NO other hydraulic mounts I’ve seen have a vac line. I was
thinking that it had to do with engine RPM and mount resistance to engine
torque roll. I vacuum tested the old one to see if it was leaking and
creating a drivability problem- nope. Chuck Testa! I don’t know what the
hell it’s for.

briansmobile1 says:

@kid123000 Your engine will torque roll a lot when you stomp on the gas and
when you shift between reverse and drive. “clunk” feel and sound.

briansmobile1 says:

The best thing to do if you can is send the correct size and thread pitch
tap in from the side that the threads are still good and re tap the hole.

briansmobile1 says:

@Rare92Mustang 90K

jbone2470 says:

Cool…thanx..What’s the vac line for that attaches to the bottom of the
mount for?..Do all vehicles that have a hydraulic mount have a vac line
attached to them?..Thanx brian..Jbone

froggy says:

Here is a link to Acura vacuum assist motor mount. YouTube denied the link.
Basically it stiffens under power & softens at idle, they fail a lot, some
folks fill them with some poly liquid that hardens & toss the vac
connection or plug it. 🙂
