Very good video. I just fixed mine, and my car started right up.
unbelievable that this little thing can shut down the whole car.
if my car starts fine in cold and starts when warm but surges and stalls
out unless i hit throttle is that a main relay issue?
@americannegr0 under the dash on the left side. It’ll be behind a big gray
box which is part of the cruise control system.
YOU DA MAN!!!!
thats an awesome idea to vent the box, being stuck way up there on the dash
like that…its impossible for any air to get to it…nice thinking!
I did this today and my car fired right up after I reinstalled it. I did
find a few cracks around some of the conections. I went to my local
hardware store and paid 20 bucks for a soldering pen and solder. I think
that was kinda high but I paid for it. Thanks for posting this, it saved my
a lot of time and money.
@GrindTimeAuto I was kinda suprized by the price. Oh well, it worked and
i’m driving my car again. I’ll track down another relay. Thanks again
I just bought one for my legend yesterday. How do you pull the old one out?
Nice video and straight forward. Of course, you can always check for fuel
pressure, but I’d attempt to repair/replace this particular relay before
throwing money and time(seat removal or tank drop depending on your
application), in order to replace a fuel pump(sock/strainer as always with
new units btw), and come to find out later the relay as shown in the video
wasn’t allowing the system to start in said conditions(hot day, trying to
start after a longer run etc).
@americannegr0 Just unplug the connector first, the relay is probably held
to the car by a 10mm bolt
@grabkem It’s pretty crazy, remember to head to the junkyard and pick up a
backup
@woot66 The local stores prices are pretty high most of the time.Make sure
you get a second backup relay
