In this video I show you how to replace the foam seal for a cabin filter tray. Certain older honda models came with a filter tray. The purpose of this foam seal tape is to prevent unfiltered air, to prevent dust from getting inside to the aircon evaporate core. If the evaporator core gets dirty, it can lower the cooling. Models that include a filter tray:

Honda Jazz, City, Fit 2009- 2013 – part no: 80293-TF0-G01
Honda Civic 8th gen – part no: 80297-SEP-H01
Honda Accord 8th gen – part no: 80297-SEP-H01
Honda CRV 3rd gen – part no: 80297-SEP-H01
Crosstour – part no: 80297-SEP-H01

There may be more models (including some on the Acura line), just check if you have a filter tray. Models that came after no longer have a filter tray. It just has a cover that does not use any foam tape seal.

To get to the cabin filter, you need to lower your glove box by pressing the sides inward – then pulling out. You may have strut or damper on the side to prevent the glove box from dropping. Remove that first. To get the filter out, push on the tabs and remove the cover. If you have a filter tray like shown in the video, pull the tray out.

Be careful when removing the old foam tape, do not scratch the surface. Clean it with an alcohol wipe to remove any dirt, that way the new tape will stick better. This is an open cell foam tape.
