Honda and Acura 5 speed automatic solenoid removal and screen cleaning. Slipping fix.

Honda and Acura 5 speed automatic solenoid removal and screen cleaning. Slipping fix.

(This is actually the linear solenoid not the 3-4 pressure switches). This is how to remove and clean the linear solenoid on a Honda 5 speed automatic transmission. If the screens on these pressure switches are clogged they may cause slipping or shuddering so check these before you think about getting a new transmission. This applies for Honda Accord years 2003-2005 and Acura TL years 2000ish to 2006. All Honda 5 speed automatics have this solenoid but it is in a different locations sometimes.Also leave any comment down below and I will try to reply.

Thank you for the video and your help. All gear shifts are great in my 2006 accord car. There is only a slight knock when going from 1 to 2. Could the problem be caused by this solenoid valve?

Question bro currently dealing w an issue where the transmission jumps on the first gear and after that i can only gas under 2500 rpm or it just revs after that. The transmission basically goes in limp mode and it i have to play with the throttle to get it to move. Any clue what it might be i have a code for transmission shift solenoid P0957 P0815

Nice video.
I have a 2007 Accord with same v6 engine. I recently started having slightly delayed and harsh 1-2 shifting especially when engine is cold. It gets better when warmed up, but not best. I also noticed delayed 2-1 shifting. When slowing down, it tends to remain in 2 till I give it gas to move off, then it comes to 1. But absolutely no slipping.
Oil is good level and not burnt, no much shavings the last time it was changed.
I cleaned the solenoid, but it wasn't much dirty. Should I just change it? I don't want this harsh shifting to damage more things.
Thanks

Same thing for a 2006 Acura RSX?

I have a 2004 Accord 3.0 280;000. Trying to replace shift solenoid A. There is a bolt on top and shift solenoid B on the bottom..how do I get it out? It's halfway out but the bolt is keeping it from coming all the way out

How can I remove that solenoid cap when it is the first time that I am going to remove it since it is very stuck

Hey, great video!

Quick question. I have a 04 Accord 4-cyl auto and I’ve owned it for about 5 years. Every time I accelerate from 10-20km/h and the car is in 2nd gear (traffic) it’s like there’s a delay in acceleration and the car kind of “jumps” when the power kicks in. This happens during regular driving not hard acceleration. Really hard to explain. But I’m not sure if this will solve my problem. Any ideas?

Thanks

Shut up and just replace it….jesus

Dude great video

@luisfelix5058 says:

What was the main issue? Does it have anything to do with reverse not engaging?

@vvince2855 says:

Did it fix your problem? Have same car.
