Same request here as Linda, could there be a way to desactivate the
bluetooth system? I do feel bluetooth in my head and it gives me big
headaches. Pilot 2013. With lot of exposition to cell phone, bluetooth and
wif-fi in the past, I don’t support constant microwave frequency anymore. I
think that I will ask the dealer to install a switch our the cable going to
the bluetooth cartridge.
Bummed! Wish the system has an “Airport Mode” like an iphone. Trying to
limit kids from constant barrage of Radio frequency and microwave frequency
– Cell Towers, home WIFI, Smart meters, etc. As a parent, I will need to
have the system disabled in my Brand new vehicle until they come up with a
system that allows users to temporarily disable it.
@ jim I would do a parasitic draw test. we see a lot of lock switches fail
on these also. if the hfl or ac clutch was the issue it would not make it
over night
I have an 07 TL S and my HFL has been acting up. I noticed I can give the
overhead console a friendly tap and it will come back on. I am thinking
something is just lose but do you think it’s just going bad?
Ic. Well my handsfree link is inoperable. My car battery also dies within
5-6 days if not drove. Is it your guess thst it is the hfl causing the
draw, and not the ac clutch relay?
Acuratech could you please expand on the AC clutch relay issue? My AC will
cool great but kicks on and off constantly at idle. Is this the issue you
speak of?
And actually I think this video may not be for an MDX. It’s for a TL. On
the MDX the part 39770-STX-A01 goes in the console or under the dash….not
sure. Acuratech, can you verify? Do you have another video for MDX’s?
Where do I purchase the replacement part, the part number and cost. I
really appreciate your help. The dealer told me it would cost $800 to
replace or Acura TL. Can you believe that?
Part # 39770-SEP-A12ZA for an ’07-08 TL. The part is called telephone assy
so if you’re looking for a different year just google that and you’ll find
it. It runs about $190 with shipping.
This is a very easy installation. Once you pop out the first piece as shown
in the video it is simply unscrewing the four screws shown in the video and
then connecting the 3 wires and screwing the screws back in and popping
back in the piece that you popped out. I ordered my part from Acura of
Peroria for $170 and I followed these steps. It took one watch of this
video and 10 minutes of my time.
what part is that? i need to know please help and what video did you
follow, please help. my acura voice did not work anymore. I pressed it and
nothing happen. also my bluetooth thing does not work. i guess I need to
change the HFL. how much was that 170 bucks?

you can unplug it and try to replug it back from in and may work got a but
or stay locked up in which case it will need to be replaced
My 07 TL Bluetooth has been saying booting up for about 2 years now.. Does
my unit need to be replaced or can it be reset in anyway to get it to work
Thanks for the response.
@funkmaster you have a different issue you need to have the system scanned
by acura or honda

Unplug the HFL unit
2009 rl hfl won’t deactivate radio won’t turn on
the relay is a issue that can cause a draw.. you have another issue.

Since the price has come down drastically I would buy a brand new one from
acura. Less then 225 I think.
Where can I find a replacement for an 04 tl?
@shawn dady I do not have one for the mdx as these rarely fail. The only
ones we seen fail at my dealer was the 07-08 and the TL’S
Shawn dady. This is a 2005 acura TL I have a video for recovering the
serial number for a mdx.

Just gonna lose the Bluetooth.
yes this will stop that but also check to make sure the a/c clutch relay is
not stuck on cause these are well known for this also.

I used a very small straight slot screw driver to pry it loose. Worked fine.
What tool did you use to pry off the first piece.
Where is part 2?

What is the part #?
Thank you for the video – you saved me $100 bucks. Took 5 minutes.
can I just disconnect this (and lose bluetooth capabilities/HFL) or do I
have to replace the faulty one with another?
